Where do non christians go after they die?

To the OP's question, it's not clearly defined in the bible where everyone goes after they die. But it is clear that everyone's soul waits in expectation of the resurrection of the dead and the Last Judgement. These links below may help you (and Scriptures are included) :

As to whether or not non-Christians can get into Heaven, we can't know that for sure; only God has the authority to pass judgement for them. But do be sure to pray for them, that God may have mercy on them, and that they may accept Him.

I don't believe the lake of fire mentioned in Revelation means eternal punishment. Fire is used symbolically throughout the OT as purification. Jesus said that those baptized would also be baptized with "spirit and fire".

Jesus spoke in hyperbole to get his point across to the dim-witted population and disciples. You could put out both eyes, still think about some booty, do the right (or if you're a leftie) knuckle shuffle, have someone cut your hands off and starve to death. Works for me! Speaking of dim, some of today's followers are not the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree either.

just like you do.
How else to be happy?
^This is actually a possibility. From my understanding, it is possible to experience God's love and Presence as pain for a while, until our sins are burned away and there is no more separation in our relationship with Him. It could even be possible that no one suffers forever in the eternal fire of His love; rejecting and hating God forever seems a little improbable, does it not?

Hey, it's your book, not mine, and if you feel fine picking and choosing which passages to believe and which can be ignored, okay, but as it stands Bible-wise hell and its lake of fire seem to be quite eternal.

Skywim. When the Bible said those things it meant it in a loving way. You know how sometimes people will torture someone for a lifetime in love on Earth? Its kind of like that.../sarcasm off.
If these verses aren't meant to be looked at as a terrifying thing then please show me the correct way to interpret this to mean something good.
