I would add that there are different kind of Sufis some adhere to Sunnah obligations and meditate also.
Plenty of name, but the road and knowledge we seek for, still the same...
I know there a lot of confusing between the word 'Sufi' and 'Sufism'. Sufi is a title of high ranking in Islam, like title of 'Imam', 'Mufti', 'Sheikh' but in a different role. Sufism is more like student of Sufi or group. For example Hazrat Inayat Khan a founder of Universal Sufism, Rumi and Al-Ghazali. They all a Sufi but has a group,have a student and different philosophy. Some of their student can reach a Sufi level some are not.. The thing I don't like it is some of sufi student claim that he is Sufi than brought a new teaching and philosophy, and if he's teaching too deviate or stray from sufis core, than It can bring a bad name to Sufi.
That is a new designation for me that I Wasn't aware of.
In Tibetan Buddhism "Lama" is the teacher and it has, in the past been referred to as "Lamaism".... and that is sort of what you are saying about Sufi/ism here it seems.
Sufi=Teacher
Sufism=Belief in the teachings of the Sufi
That is correct according to how you spoke about it?
Also... this is saying that you can't practice Sufism without a Sufi/Teacher, correct?
I have to add again some Sufi's are Sunni's that do not hold to mystical teachings but rather to clean him self.
I don't see exorcism as a mythical thing. I am sorry but on what kind of subjects do they know more i always hear the claims that Sufi's know more but i never understood that please clarify?Maybe he just keep mystical knowledge just for himself .. some Sufi's do that..
You can't reach Sufi level if you don't have full mystical knowledge.. If he don't have it, he just a student of Sufi..
Mystical knowledge is wide but Sufi knows a lot more than anybody, an exorcism is mystical too. Sunni at your place don't do an exorcism, brother? . I live at country that, 99% is Sunni, there's a lot of Sunni can do an exorcism... Doesn't mean you Sunni, you can't learn of mystical thing.

They do exorcism but only Imams that are familiar and know everything about it.
Why do you think that many Sufis are now coming from a Shia background? I'm curious to any ideas you have of why this is happening.
