My lil secret...

This is where I have had my nose stuck for the last few weeks. And why I haven't been on here as much. Has anyone else researched occultism and ceremonial magick? It is absolutely wild and fascinating. So...

I was checking out that whywiccanssuck website when I saw that one of the recommended readings was The Classics of Magic. I looked it up for kicks just to see what it was and low and behold there is a pdf. It was a combination of The Lesser and Greater Keys of Solomon, Occult Philosophies somethin er another, and The Hieroglyphic Monad. There might have been another. I'm about pass out so I'm being lazy. So then I started researching the Goetia. That was just like, whoa. Everyone has a different opinion about it, and I couldn't find any concrete historical information on the original daggum material in the British Library that the Mathers guy translated to make the Keys. Some people are like: "Oh its evil don't look at it!" Talking about how you can accidentally invoke a demon by thinking too much about them, then have spookables bouncing around your house wreaking havoc on you in your sleep and in your kitchen and such. Others are like, "Oh, spirits can't hurt you unless you believe they can." From somewhere there is the resonating: "Bull----!!" So I was like... hm. Interesting. :sarcastic

What is even more interesting is how friggen complicated some of the explanations and theories become. If these people are crazy, some of them are crazy geniuses, which in a way might be worse than just being crazy:eek:.

Has anyone else ever researched or studied this? No one worry. I won't be casting any circles and playing with spookables. But holy hell, talk about stuff that will hold your attention. Wow.

I will make sure to keep ya'll posted if I do see any demonic spookable activity in my house;).

Oh, and has anyone here read the Golden Dawn? I have never seen it mentioned here. That looks like an interesting read.

well the only diffrence between crazy and genius is opinion, i mean dr frankenstein was a genius bet people still thought he was crazy,

as for summoning rituals etc. i know how it goes in theory but in practic i kinda am unable to pull it of

Aw that stinks. I love reading the stories. :p Every one is different. It is either the product of a hyper-active and creative imagination, delusion, or... something. lol.

SPOOOOOKABLES....

Saint Tigeress, I don't suppose you have links for these, do you? The only whywiccanssuck website I can find is a (sort-of) porn site. Doing a Google search on "the classics of magic" got me a whole bunch of hits about card tricks. I'd love to read the PDF you found, but I can't find it. I do see the Greater and Lesser Keys of Solomon at the Internet Sacred Texts Archive. But I want to read the stuff you're talking about!

Sure! I have some things I need to email Doctor Strange as well. These are all the places I bounced around in:

Why Wiccans Suck

This is a link directly to the links and recommended readings:

Why Wiccans Suck

Here is where I got the Classics of Magick:

Classics of Magick

Hmmm....

I am having issues finding where I got the links to all the pdf's I have now. Pm me your email (if it's not already in your profile) and I will email them to you. That's what I'm doing for DS right now.:D

Much Love,

I have been practising ceremonial magick for over 6 yrs now.
I've worked with the greater and Lesser keys of Solomon, worked the Golden Dawn system, cast many a circle, and poured over the complexity of rituals. It does seem like a huge amounts of detail, and yes, definitely a work of many a genius - Mathers being one of them, however there is a pattern to it all, and once you know the pieces you can put together ever more complicated rituals.

Ceremonial Magick is like performing a physical and mental dance. Rituals include physicalmovements & vocal vibrations combined with mental visualisations. Being able to "perform" a ritual perfectly, requires getting all 3 perfect and in time. In doing so - you shut off your internal dialogue (cause you'r concentrating so hard) - so in this way its very like Yoga.

If you are still on this forum I'd happily chat more about ceremonial magick :)

This is from 2008, but I am just going to say that all the stuff you talked about isn't anything I don't know about.I can't think of who wouldn't know of the Goetia if your a so-called "occult" person.

"occult" means hidden.... so yes Goetia is definitely "Occult" but I would say it is widely practised by occultists as it's extremely advanced work.

It is only one of many many occult systems - and is only a part thereof, being just the Lesser Key of Solomon.

WOW. Guys... that was from 2007. It's five years later. lol.

It's interesting seeing my initial awe struck fascination though.

I ended up using chaos magick as a platform to work from and focused on chaos magick techniques initially, some energy work, and dream work. I learn and have the most significant experiences through dream work I found. I took some time to become aquatinted with a divination. Tarot overall is too vast and complex for me to stay focused on, but I have my one deck I've loved since I was a child and my pendulum. I have the truest time tested results from pendulum divination. I joined Arcanorium and that is always an enriching experience. I need to do it again. I got distracted by friggen I don't even know what I'd call it for a while. I fell in love with a Tibetan Buddhist which was a disaster. The whole I love you but relationships only lead to suffering bit. The depth of Vajrayana almost broke my brain, but I persisted with that general... spiritual scene... and the experiences ended seemingly in my benefit from what I can tell... all that experience with self-knowing and nondualism. I learned a lot about guru's, false guru's/spiritual predators, spiritual fapping and such... met a Swami from India in person that was pretty cool... That's over. I eventually found that general scene to not be right for me. I still however value a lot of the practices I picked up. I still have an Indian friend or two. I'm using an awesome mantra one gave me as a gift, that raises kundalini, with very nice results so far. My goal has evolved into... (well actually this is the first time I have had a goal this whole time) master astral projection and then begin psychopomp studies... death walking... death midwifery etc. Astral projection is possibly a side effect of raising kundalini, so I decided to give that approach a whirl as I have tried to get a grasp on projection before so I have control of it, with no luck. I am now also exploring Voo Doo, right now focusing on ancestor veneration and reaching out to Papa Legbo, along with a little Slavic Sorcery... getting in touch with my roots that jumped out and slapped me across the face. ha ha

I only have book and discussion study, related to evocations of any kind. I'm reading Evoking Eternity now. Amazing book. I just don't have a space. I have one free room, my chamber room, and my Baba Yaga and Ancestor Altar is there. I don't want to practice any evocations, especially with Goetics, until I have a space separate from my house so the energy in here is not as affected. My dad and my ten cats have to live in here too lol... and I've put a lot of work into making my home comfortable, accommodating, clean, and cozy for all of us.
