CORNELIUS TACITUS (55 - 120 A.D.) Tacitus was a 1st and 2nd century Roman historian who lived through the reigns of over half a dozen Roman emperors. Considered one of the greatest historians of ancient Rome,Tacitus verifies the Biblical account of Jesus' execution at the hands of Pontius Pilate who governed Judea from 26-36 A.D. during the reign of Tiberius.

There really is no real proof.

his existance lies in a gray area.


what was written outside scripture was done so long after he was supposed to exist.


with that said, and I started out in the myth camp. Its fairly certain by the amount of scripture written that he did in fact exist as a real person.

His historicity can be summed up in a short paragraph though.

he was a traveling teacher of the OT, who was probably a good healer. he was a tekton who started follwoing john the babtist teachings, and was baptised. he went to the temple and ticked off teh romans who quickly put him to death on a cross.

beyond that right there, little can be said with any certainty.

people will chime in and move goal post through the gray area though and claim it with certainty. Its all a matter of opinion.

Whine less. I'm not at all hostile. I do, however, find the thoughtless juvenile challenge attempted in the OP a little tiresome and fully worthy of sarcasm. It does not take much in the way of brains to realize that (a) this forum has been around for some time, (b) many of its members are far from idiots, and (c) virtually any topic (particularly the pathetically obvious ones) would have been discussed on numerous occassions by folks with a fair amount of knowledge. The true condescending attitude here is the one shown by the author of the OP towards his audience.

One you assume he has used or knows how to use a forum. 2 its a pain in the *** to dig through all threads. Three so what that's no reason to be rude. 4. Your post wasn't helpfull you could have linked him to the many threads about the topic or atleast tell him about them, hell if it bothers you so much then why read the thread and reply? 5 how you speak to others represents the forum and its user base as a whole. You make me you and every one else here look bad because you have an attitude problem. Your post was usless, unwitty, and rude.

Yep. There is more evidence to show that Jesus was a real person, that He died, and that He actually rose from the dead, than there is for the existence of Hitler. Space does not permit explanation, but I can promise you, if you will sincerely look at the facts, you will begin to understand.

I've looked at Buddhism, Atheism, all of them, but the only think that convinced me that Jesus was and still is real, is I threw everyone's preconceived ideas out the window and simply started to pray. I just asked Him. Of course I didn't expect much in the beginning, but now I know from personal relevant actual experience that life is better with Him as my friend. I got real tangible help that could only be credited to God.

You don't have to be Einstein to ask questions, or to understand the Bible. It's too bad if people don't agree with you. Your job is just to ask. It's God's job to show you the answers.

Proof?
I just receive a 50€ note from the cash-mashine and you prove to me that it is genuine? You will not able to, because my falsifier is ingenius, I can tell you!
He can falsify everything, just ingenius.

Evidence? If I look at the banknote I trust that it is genuine because it looks quite genuine. Can I really know it, can it be proven?
