If they were literal people (I believe they are not literal) I doubt seriously that they would be white skinned.

Aside from this whole thread being based on one of Moses' dreams,
I think someone mentioned the rib coming from the side of Adam.
And thinking of that...wouldn't Eve and Adam have indentical DNA ?
Sooooooo...going down stream a ways...wouldn't everyone have indentical DNA ?
There wasn't a real mother involved, just another virgin in the midst, so to speak !
~
And into another part of that hullicination...from where'd the wifes of the two remaining children come ?
But that's another dream altogether !

That's where the author of the STORY let the cat outa da bag.

There were other people in the world already, ( they werent A & E's "other" children) showing the A & E story to be what it is, JUST A STORY about the beginning of civilization.

Does anyone ever think of that?

white skinned people?

to allow for the variation in skin colour we see today, they would most likely be medium brown skin. This allows for the all possible genetic melanin combinations for the darkest black skin to the palest white skin

An easier explanation is that they simply didn't exist, and we all evolved in different parts of the world due to environmental based mutation.

Mostly because it lines up with fact. Because the story is simply a creation myth as to how humans got their different colors(among other things). Just like the tower of Babel explains all the different languages.

The easiest explanation is, there is one source of the the universe and it's diversities.

Now we know that science is looking for that one scorce.

Ya. Environmental based mutations.

Well, the search for the origin of evolution would be relegated to the study of the origin of life, which is abiogenesis.

They have made a bit of headway in some laboratory experiments but nothing completely definitive yet.

Scientists create artificial life in laboratory - Times Online

This one is where they actually made a completely artificial life form that was programmed using 4 base chemicals. It's genetic makeup was completely man-made.

Life’s First Spark Re-Created in the Laboratory | Wired Science | Wired.com

This one is a personal favorite of mine. :) It was almost an accident though the result is the one they were looking for in the first place.

Remembering that the Genesis story is only a myth;
I ask of all......why does there have to be only one skin color, or skeletal shape, or bone structure, or bone count ?
In this great span of earth's lands, and given the tremendous amount water, and the millions of chemical combinations.
I can only wonder how many different life forms would emerge from this mix, including the varience amongst humans.
If only a dozen or so human species evolved, on different continents, over thousands of years, separated by water.
No boats, no real tools, very little, if any, fire, and on and on......humankind would evolved to it's present form.
No big deal, just a lot of time and evolution......nahhhhhhh, that's too easy.....it had to be God !
My god....the simplicity of everone's thinking....not everyone, but some, maybe even a few, it's a myth, get over it !
quote:"Ya. Environmental based mutations."......that gets it !
