Against abortion for any reason? What about the death penalty?

How do you feel about abortion and the death penalty?

Pro life.

Against abortion in just about any case (pretty sure all of them).
Against death penalty in just about any case (pretty sure all of them).

Consistency is nice.

It's the parents' choice to kill the yet unconscious fetus.

Against death penalty because I'm pretty much a pacifist.

I am limited pro-choice (I am partial to the 12-week limit of Denmark), and against the death penalty for practical considerations (not because I am morally against killing someone for murder).

I think too many people equate pro-choice with pro-abortion
Actually, im not really sure how many people would actually be pro-abortion, that kind of implies that they are for the aborting of babies regardless of reason. :D

I digress!

I dont believe it is the governments place to decide whether a woman should have an abortion or not. That said, Im not really sure in what case I would actually consider it appropriate to abort a baby. The point is that its up to the woman/family and Dr., not the gov.

I dont support the death penalty because I dont think that it is appropriate for people to judge whether its right to take someones life as a penalty.

I also just dont care for killing all that much.

I am pro-life and I am against the death penalty (because someone has to pull the switch or put the needle in the arm).

Can't vote in poll.

I'm personally anti-abortion, but legally/politically pro-choice. I have no opinion on the death penalty. I remain in a neutral position.

Pro-choice and against death penalty.

There are some circumstances when abortion is not just permissible, but mandated.
The actual life of the woman is always to be valued above the potential life of the unborn fetus.
If there is a choice of who lives, it's her every time. If there's mindless pro-life-no-matter-what laws then she will die, pure and simple.

And all this doesn't strike you as 'mindless?'

Likewise. I only oppose capital punishment due to the chance of an innocent person being executed by mistake.

War gets a free pass from almost everyone.

Pro-lifers are usually also very Pro-war*.
(which is just a 'nice' way of saying mass murder- for political reasons).

*at least as a voting block.

This is a decent point and is true in my worldview.

However, I am a pro-lifer that is anti-war, and does not excuse soldiers from participating (willfully) in murderous behavior.

My point is that 'mindless' is a childish accusation and deserves removal. Or being called out as I attempted to do with your post.

I still don't understand your point. Why don't you just state your position?

I'm for the choice of a woman as to whether or not she wants to have an abortion, but not for unlimited time. However, if her life or her health is in danger then thats a different story.

I'm not against the death penalty as a concept in the slightest, but have some problems with what it is applied to in some countries, and the fact that a good room in some cases for the possibility of innocence is there yet the person is executed anyway.

In other words, agree with having a death penalty, but applying it much less than it is, not in any case where there is any kind of doubt left.
