Just sharing a dream from last night...

... Odd things were happening in the dream. Having to defend (moral) positions. Physical accidents. Threatening people/situations. Every time something happened I saw a weird looking snake that seemed to get a little bigger whenever I was afraid, or didn't act/hesitated out of fear. After the last "scene" I was walking through a narrow lush valley. There was grass everywhere and small(ish) trees that grow up out of the steep sides of the valley walls reaching upward. There was occasional rock outcroppings jutting out from the side of the valley walls. After a bit of walking it opened up slightly and there was a man sitting upon a rock outcropping. He seemed to have been waiting patently for my arrival.
He asked "What question are you thinking about?" with a serene smile and slight tilt of his head.
"The snake", I started talking as if we were old friends, "what is it and why is it a little bigger each time I see it?"
He smiled in a compassionate way, "That snake is 'fear' it follows you from your birth. You feed the snake every time you act or fail to act out of fear."
"What is its purpose?" I asked.
"It will follow you as long as you feed it. If it follows you for all your days it will be waiting for you when you die."
"Waiting for me?"
"Yes. It will wait for you and if you have not learned to let go of your fears in this live it will not let you pass unless you can conquer the sum of all your fears." He said with gentle concern.
Leaning forward I asked "What happens if you can not defeat it then?"
"You come back and see if you can starve that particular snake in another life.", he said as if it were obvious.
"What happens if I can defeat the sum of all fears there, or after I learn to let go of fear and the snake goes away?" I asked.
He smiled and pointed I turned to look and saw down the valley there was a path going through some woods. I looked back towards him and he was gone. Upon the rock outcropping where he was sitting was a small tree and hanging from the branch that was in the place where his pointing hand was was a necklace/string of seeds.
I then woke up.

I thought is was an interesting dream and I just thought I would share. :)

Hello WayFarer
Since this dream, have you seen fears in a different way? Have they diminished or increased, for example?

:)

Friend Wayfarer,

Found the following dream interpretation of *SNAKE*

Dream Interpretation Snake:
To dream of snakes, is most often seen as a foreboding of evil however a snake can also be a sign of reformation, change and rebirth due to its ability to shed its skin
For a woman to dream that a dead snake is biting her, foretells she will suffer from malice of a pretended friend.
To see them wriggling and falling over others, foretells struggles with fortune and remorse.
To kill them, you will feel that you have used every opportunity of advancing your own interests, or respecting that of others. You will enjoy victory over enemies.
To walk over them, you will live in constant fear of sickness, and selfish persons will try to usurp your place in your companion's life.
If they bite you, you will succumb to evil influences, and enemies will injure your business.
To dream that a common spotted snake approaches you from green herbs, and you quickly step aside as it passes you, and after you had forgotten the incident to again see it approaching and growing in dimensions as it nears you, finally taking on the form of an enormous serpent; if you then, after frantic efforts, succeed in escaping its attack, and altogether lose sight of it, it foretells that you will soon imagine you are being disobeyed and slighted, and things will go on from bad to worse. Sickness, uneasiness and unkindness will increase to frightful proportions in your mind; but they will adjust themselves to a normal basis, and by the putting aside of imaginary trouble, and masterfully shouldering duties, you might be contented and repaid.
To dream that a snake coils itself around you and darts its tongue out at you, is a sign that you may be placed in a position where you will be powerless in the hands of enemies, and you will be attacked with sickness.
To handle them, you will use strategy to aid in overthrowing opposition.
To see hairs turn into snakes, foretells that seeming insignificant incidents will make distressing cares for you.
If snakes turn into unnatural shapes, you might have troubles which will be dispelled if treated with indifference, calmness and will power.
To see or step on snakes while wading or bathing, could denote that there will be trouble where unalloyed pleasure was anticipated.
To see them bite others, foretells that some friend will be injured and criticised by you.
To see little snakes, could denote you will entertain persons with friendly hospitality who will secretly defame you and work to overthrow your growing prospects.
To see children playing with them, is a sign that you may be nonplussed to distinguish your friends from your enemies. For a woman to think a child places one on the back of her head, and she hears the snake's hisses, foretells that she will be persuaded to yield up some possession seemingly for her good, but she will find out later that she has been inveigled into an intrigue in which enemies will tantalize her.
To see snakes raising up their heads in a path just behind your friend, could denote that you will discover a conspiracy which has been formed to injure your friend and also yourself. To think your friend has them under control, could denote that some powerful agency will be employed in your favor to ward off evil influences.
Just enjoy it and forget the dream thats past.

Hello WayFarer

Hello Onkarah, I hope you have been doing well. :)
As far as fears/worries are concerned I would say I think they have diminished. I believe I see them (the objects/issues of fear/concern) as milestones more than obstacles. There is actually a bit of a speech I have to give to a group of people that will not want to hear it later this week and I am looking forward to seeing how I do now as opposed to worrying over possible responses.
It was an interesting dream. Thank you for your question.

Thank you ZenZero for that information as to some of the possible interpretations of snakes in dreams. I thought it interesting that there were so many different circumstances/scenarios listed. Interesting. I wish my words were more descriptive of the dream. The scenery in the dream had an epic movie type quality to it. I tend to enjoy my dreams, for the most part, and move on but some seem worth telling. This seemed like it might be one. Thank you for your post.
