Is God a sexual being?

I don't see god as having human characteristics. God isn't even a being IMO.

Which god? And then which form of that god?

There would be a convincing argument that god is a sexual being, at least in a Christian perspective. Their belief is that God created us in his own image. There would have to be some type of sexual nature than to God since humans have a sexual nature.

Some Christians would agree, and claim that our sexual nature came from Satan, but if God is the creator of all, it would really lean to that he does in fact have some sort of sexual nature.

God is One

He created all beings in pairs

There is to Him no equivalent

He is the light of the Heavens and the earth

That would depend on one's understanding of God's fundamentals.

In Abrahamic religions, I would say no.

In the Feri tradition, 'God Herself' not only has sex but IS sex. S/He is described as 'pansexual' and 'clitirophallic'.

I think my ultimate answer is: who can know? I certainly don't.

But I tend to see the material universe as a murky reflection of the spiritual universe. I see God and both male and female (and other). The way that male and female 'work' on that level is not sexual in the material sense. But between the two aspects, all things are 'born'. I know that in my religion it is not too strange to see or hear a sexual depiction of divine intimacy. But I tend to take these very allegorically. Most religious stories are allegorical.

Is there a sexual nature to god, since he made things with sexual nature?

IMO creator is one but creatures is not one in the same sense. duality makes reality possible and male and female stand as opposites as well

I assume you've never heard of Parthenogenesis.

Aspidoscelis tellesata, a female species of whiptail lizard, contain double the standard genetic complement and has no need for males. The same is true of the species, Cnemidophorus neomexicanus.

And the ant Mycocepurus smithii reproduces without fertilization. The males of the species are nonexistent.

Same goes for the bonnethead shark, Sphyrna tiburo;

Why do even we assign gender to god?

we dont really, in the bible God has both male and female Characteristics, the bible does call him king yes, but thats because it was the king that rules in those times not the queen it was the male that had dominance so it makes sense. The bible never calls God a man, at least to my knowledge

Do you see any sheep , desserts , ??? like I said it was incorperated into the whole concept of male leadership in the society, at that still doesnt apply for the female characteristics that God has in the bible.

In which case today's christians at large should have no problem
switching out 'our father' for 'our mother'
with the smoothest of ease.

your just taking what I said out of context, he has mothering traits that is true but that was only to show that calling him a man, which was your inital statement was false. if we wanted to be accurate we would have to say God was neither which was my original statement.

ok. so god was not male.
was god also not father?

What are the differences between "father traits"
and "mother traits",
that would nullify the prayer....
"Our Mother, who art in heaven... hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil."

It fits today's father no better than it does today's mother.
