All I know is that it's a country that we've heard a lot about lately and that it's recently changed it's flag to something else. This is the old one. Those are the only hints I've been given.

You're welcome! :D

What do you win?

I don't know yet. They gave us a paper with 192 flags on it and the person who gets the most wins something. Afghanistan was the only one I was missing so I'm assuming I'm going to win, but I won't find out until next week. The deadline to hand them in is Monday. At the very least though, I tied with someone, but I doubt anyone else is going to get them all. It took me 10 hours of Internet look up to get them all hahaha! I can't see anyone else going to all that trouble.

I'll let you know next week what I win

Found it!

It was the flag of Afghanistan in 1992:

I spent an hour this morning trying to figure it out, and couldn't. Frubals.

I was seeing a vertical bar on the hoist side that was blue on the top and red on the bottom, which would have been odd -- now I reckon that's the fly end of another flag, but I couldn't see that at the time. Not that it really mattered, I didn't get anywhere near the correct answer anyway. I was thinking it might be a provincial or district flag of Syria.
