i can't stand how animals being treated anymore. even though i don't have any emotional and moral stand against eating meat, my conscience would not let me under this circumstances. as a single protest against their inhumanity and their vicious lack of compassion for animals, i refuse to eat meat

Congrats .lava!!

I also recently quit eating meat this year after I saw the way they treat their animals before...their end. Was horrifying.

Because animals don't have a voice they are overlooked and not heard. Lets speak for them.

I've heard of that video before, but just can't bring myself to watch it.

i don't know you and your nature at all but if you're having second thoughts i believe you should not watch it. it is terrible and heart breaking

Wat animals do to themselvse in the wild is horrible, bears and birds eat their victums until they are dead, snakes make their victums suffer through poison, or merely cruch them to death.

what we do might be seen as bad, but in the animal world. not so much.

That is a strawman, because wild animals have neither the mental capacity to understand the consequences of their actions on other sentient beings, nor any dieat alternatives that are biologically sustainable. Humans who eat animals are cruel, because humans have other options (vegetarianism) yet they choose to kill concious beings for food anyway.

no its not we are animals wether we are sentiant or not doesnt matter, after all none of us have really been able to hammer down morals right, so what is cruel to you isnt creul to us etc. also there are alot fo benefits to eating meat, far more protein, therefore making us stronger etc, we also keep the animal population down, can you picture any other animal in the UK who will eat teh cows or pigs that now populate our planet?

Im sorry mate I just dont see your point, even if you ignore everything I have said we need to keep animal populations down, cows, sheep, pigs in the west have no natural preditors.

I would understand if you wanted it to be more humane, but come on see sense.

Animals consumed for food are bred in large numbers specifically for that purpose (and often not in the best of conditions). I could be way wrong, but I'm not sure we'd have a crazy population of cows taking over if everyone gave up eating meat. :p

I'm not against people who eat meat nor would I call them cruel ~ I just wanted to address the animal population issue. :)

I agree Annie. It's highly doubtful that the world's population will turn vegetarian overnight, leaving billions of cattle with nothing to do. If we phased out our meat consumption (or at least, considerably reduced it), then less animals would need to be bred for future consumption.

The reason being we have extinguished the natural predators and artificially bred the prey populations far beyond their natural level. If vegetarianism is slowly phased in, then there will be no Sheep Apocalypse or whatever it is that you are predicting.
