Why do homophobic people bother?

Tell us all why you want us to change? We have so many silly threads accusing us of choosing to like the same gender. We have even sillier threads telling us that homosexuals should change and force themselves to be with people that they are not attracted to. What's the deal? Do you feel justified because some priest told you that it is evil to have a same-sex relationship? Get over yourself. I do not belong to an anti-gay religion. What makes you think I should live by the rules of your religion? My religion requests that we do not harm others. When are you going to start adhering to that? It seems to me that when your own house is a mess, the last thing you need to do is come tell me how to clean my house. This especially holds true when my house really is not a mess at all.

Because these are people who see a certain segment of consensual sexuality as a "norm", and that anything that deviates from that "norm", it's hence considered "deviant" and therefore "weird" or "bad."

They see:

Heterosexuality as the norm.

Monogamy as the norm.

Vanilla sex as the norm.

Male ejaculation as the norm.

Pro-creation/breeding instinct as the norm.

I've noticed this a lot. Many of my friends/relatives think just because a person is gay that person wants to have sex with them. Most of these people have problems pulling someone of the opposite sex, yet they are so full of themselves that they think every homosexual wants them.

LOL homophobes are typically terrified and ignorant of their own sexuality, and therefore find "deviants" who have stable lives and look happy as the ultimate threat to their own ego.

It manifests as anger toward us because they can't see it as a projection of their own rejection.....whether it's a perceived rejection from us, or their own rejection of who they are. Or both.

Guilt/shame is some mega-powerful fuel.

Don't they know we actually pick who we infect with the "gay bug?" We look at things like financial status and, as shallow as it seems, looks. If they don't excel in both categories we rarely even bother trying to turn them. :no:

LOL no I would guess not!! However, maybe they think they fit most of these qualities and therefore are a target for lustful deviant tendencies. I think Mystic hit it dead on. They are insecure in their own sexual ideation and fearful of anything they don't understand.

Just to support my posts earlier, it was never about gay turning straight. For that matter it could have been straight people turning gay. The whole point was that our brains are able to change if we want them to.
Genetics might not change, but brain chemistry can.

I realize that is above your level of communication, because it is clear you have YET to actually address any real point I have made, other than to get on your bandwagon and make yourself feel better.

For the record, homo, hetero, and bi are something we are born with. Part genetic, part chemical, and part social. I would never argue that. I would however argue that not all three of those aspects are hardwired, and are able to change. The question becomes why would anyone want to change? I could care less actually, I just think it is neat they can change.
