Wouldn't you agree that in 'New Age' beliefs, there is much emphasis on the present or very near future rather than the far future?

Yes, the movement bagan with looking forward...

from apocalyptic christianity, seeking a new age
to 19th century occultism and theosophy of alice bailey
to the 60's and hippies....the revolution, the change

the coming of the new times....

The practises are old yes, but they are arguably watered down (largely) are repackaged in a new form....

New Age is the oldest religion in the universe. The Great Enlightened Lucifer is Maitreya, and Teacher of Great Wisdom, and His Masters of Wisdom are the annunaki of the psuedepegrapha.

I was totally expecting this to be common knowledge on this site, but I am so far disappointed in the lack of true understanding and wisdom here!:(

"True" understanding tends to be very subjective here ;)

New Age is the unification of the ancient religions back to thier pure form, as one true religion.
The darkness following the flood, and the murder of our masters' children, and the world social unrest caused our religion to divide, but our unfier is to come again and bring with him the masters to repurify us!

Only now the Abramic religions are standing in the way. Saying theirs is the only god. We know there is but one god, but there are many who are of god and are in fact gods, and it is not really some thing to be subjective about.

but I figured there might be some here that are less inclined to remain divided in this, and at least try to understand the roots of our division.

Thats why I am here. I am gonna figure it all out!

 You really don't know anything about that which you speak.
The religions of Old where never One religion, they where never connected.
Please learn your history, and about New Age before posting more junk.

Too often new age is watered down piffle though....

hold a crystal, save a kitten by invoking an angel
fung shui your altar while practising Yoga

In trying to fuse all things...

often the new age becomes a "Jack of all trades and a master of none"

There is a reason that most seriously spiritually or religiously commited people laugh or if they are polite, raise an eye brow, at the new age movement.

Of course there is good in there...but its hard to find amongst the

"Stroke my cat, gain mystical insight through reading my toe nails" etc

Even new agers have a place though...and shouldnt be treated as worthless

Maitreya (Sanskrit), Metteyya (Pāli), or Jampa (Tibetan), is a future Buddha of this world in Buddhist eschatology. In some Buddhist literature, such as the Amitabha Sutra and the Lotus Sutra, he is referred to as Ajita Bodhisattva.
Maitreya is a bodhisattva who in the Buddhist tradition is to appear on Earth, achieve complete enlightenment, and teach the pure dharma. According to scriptures, Maitreya will be a successor of the historic Śākyamuni Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. The prophecy of the arrival of Maitreya is found in the canonical literature of all Buddhist sects (Theravāda, Mahāyāna, Vajrayāna) and is accepted by most Buddhists as a statement about an actual event that will take place in the distant future.

Well, judging from the ancient religions that are calling their one god by the same name, only in a different language I would say they are the same, especially since they have mostly evolved into the same today.

Most every religion in the world relates the major deity as the light bearer. All of these hold the true god of light, who is lucifer, as the high god.

Although it is true what you have said irt my knowledge of new age idiosyncrasies, I must say that I have done my HISTORICAL research.

As for their being connected, it's up to you and me to make the connections soas we may find the true and correct path.

god is Light. god is Knowledge. god is Wisdom.

All these point to the one true god who is lucifer, and the modern prophets of new age, Alice Bailey and Joseph Creme both assert that it is indeed lucifer who is god of light, knowledge, and wisdom. His modern day title is Maitreya, or World teacher, but I assure you he will manifest himself as god.

His return is nigh with his masters of wisdom, who are the annunaki of nibiru. The ancient mayans foretold even the date of their return for their kingdom.

I know that only the abramic faiths and the atheists stand in the way of their return, but if they choose to live by the sword in opposition to lord Maitreya, it appears as if they shall meet their fate in this way!

Perhaps a little understanding of my angle will lead you to understand my position.

If that's the case then the New Age Forum should be taken out of the Pagan DIR and put some where else.

Dont you realize it is your birthrite to become a god. Everyman who seeks the light is to become unto a god. It is written in most every ancient dogma, and even touched on by the abramic faiths in a dark, deluded sense.

Only New Age and modern Buddhism teach similarly. Its not about a spiritual ranking, it's about collective conscience. A million minds.

We have the knowledge. We have the power. It is what the evolution of man mind was to be about. A little here, a little there, until the lord returned to bring about his technological eden, in which all of mankind will be connected.

I have found it's not about your tradition, or my own. It's not new age, or luciferianism, or satanism(which is bad by the way), or budhism or hinduism or wicca etc etc etc.

It is the ONE WORLD RELIGION, united by the great wise dragon, who is lucifer, who is light, who is wisdom.

Why are we to be so divisive anyway?
Are we not all of one flesh?

Where is it in the Religions of Asatru, Shinto, the Native American belief, where in the Greek and Roman and Celtic religions does it say one becomes a god?
They don't none of them do and they are all ancient religions.
Maybe you should read up and learn a little something about the old ways before twisting them into a New Age orgy.
The rest of your post really show what is wrong with a lot of New Age and why no one takes it seriously.

I don't care what anybody says, freeman bricklayer is awesome and I will fight anybody who says otherwise.

I personally have a number of reservations to the New Age movement, but at the same time hesitate to make sweeping statements.

First, the New Age movement owes a lot to "underground" streams of Westen thought such as occultism and theosophy. These movements, however, were mostly initiated by a few dodgy authors catering for the bored upper classes. The claims of having been initiated to some secret brotherhoods holding ancient knowledge, e.g. by Blavatsky, were simply fake. I do not feel attracted to those thinkers at all, and I personally hold the opinion that esoteric writings by Steiner and Blavatsky are simply unreadable pretentious gibberish.

Second, as the above writers (e.g. Blavatsky), New Age uses a plethora of exotic images, with generous loans from all types of cultures, with quite a tendency of being superficial. In any case, I see no reason why I should study, say, tarot, crystals and feng shui.

Finally, I feel the New Age movement, at least as it presents itself here in the UK, is too much based on individualism and consumerism. There are numerous centres of "holistic healing" etc here that offer anything from Reiki over sweat lodges to fire walking to establishing contacts with meremaids and fairies - for hefty fees. So they clearly cater for the economically successful. Anybody else is excluded. All this might provide entertaining spare time activities for young successful professionals, but if somebody really has problems, I fear the "holistic healing" market will gladly take the money and have little if anything solid to offer in exchange.
