Extinction of lions

Do you worry about lion extinction?
In Kenya, the lions are on the brink of extinction [within the next 20 years; check topic on the Internet].
Also throughout the rest of Africa.
Well.
As far as I’m concerned, lions are useless creatures/beasts, without much ecological value [except commercial tourism, perhaps; for a while].

Here in South Africa, there are no lions in the wild; only in fenced up parks.
I really don’t care whether lions disappear.

Of course Lions are useful especially in the wild and are an important in keeping prey animals numbers down, they only take the young or old which keeps the herds in good shape.

Hogwash.
The few lions left in the wild today prey on only a few impalas or wildebeests, that's all.
It has no serious impact on the ecology of the area.
Lions are lazy and useless species, besides.

Wow what hatefully ignorance of a species. You say Loins have no purpose, hey we'll see when there all died. Man ***** up nature and thinks nothing of it till it's to late.
This way of thinking is no different then the people that see no reasons for Wolves and don't care if they are wiped out.
Disgusting.

Well that is a surprise!
I thought you would really be concerned about the lions, after all they use to feed the Christians to them......Isn't that what you relish a feeding frenzy on the believers?

Any thoughts on Tigers? Rrrrrr :D

I know this is totally off topic but the Romans didn't actually used to feed the Christians to the lions it is a myth.

Is it just lions in Kenya, or the entire population world wide?

Are they going extinct naturally, or is it people hunting them?

Kindly wake up to the reality that there is no differences between you, me or the lions.
The are just different forms of the same *energy*.
Evolution is that in which the old gives way to the new at all times.
Don,t worry the human form that you, me are in are not permanent either and one day this form too will be extinct.

Lions are a pain to live with I am told. I can't imagine living with them here in america. Watching my kids and dogs play and the backyard peacefully would be a difficult thing with lions about.

The Lions wouldn't be any more of a pain to live with than us Christians...:D

I disagree. Christians historically have killed more humans then lions... In todays age christians are unlikely to kill my children or dogs while I was washing dishes...

Imagine lions... sleeping 18-20 hours a day... and hunting the easiest prey... living in your backyard as compared to say mormons and jehovah witnesses going door to door ministering...

Which would you be more weary of?

I've never thought about the extinction of lions until now... I didn't know they might all die... Now I'm worried about them. I like lions. I like rhinos more though. I'm worried about them too. Can you imagine? A world without rhinos? It would be extremely similar to how the world is WITH rhinos... but I still don't want them to go extinct.

I suppose if one can't find joy in anything, the satisfaction of sneering is better than nothing.
