I just ate a whole jar of olives in one sitting, and drank the juice too.

Have you ever done something that felt good while you were doing it, but afterward you questioned your wisdom for it? I have.

Mmmmmm I love olives and I have on many an occasion eaten a whole jar full in one sitting but not drunk the juice.

But usually only when I have the magical munchies.

So how many grams of sodium did you just consume (should be on the nutrition label)?

Friend MSizer,

I can't tell, the label was damaged becuase it came as a gift taped up to a plate, so when I tore the tape off, it took part of the label with it. Funny though, most of the nutrition guide is still in tact, but the sodium line is part of the small missing section.

Good question. Now I'm so curious. Maybe I can find the brand online and get it there.

No, no luck. I found the company and the specific jar of olives, but they don't list the nutritional value online. That's probably not an indication that they're particularly good for me.

Wow. I wish you luck on your emminent journey.

As for eating a whole jar--green or black would sound pretty good, but I think the juice is going to do you in...

I do stuff like that. Never questioned the wisdom of it though. It tastes good and I figured why waste it. A lot of times I put olive or pickle juice into egg salad and make sandwiches.

Considering the "juice" of olives is usually just brine, I would say you had an "uh oh" amount of salt. ;)

I love olives too though, it's so easy to eat a whole jar, especially the ones that are already pitted.
