Nephthys, the alter-ego of Isis. "Where Isis was visible, birth, growth, development and vigour, Nephthys was invisible, death, decay, diminution and immobility. She was the darkness to Isis' light."

I should add the reason that she is my favourite is because with her Isis is part of a duality of life and death, birth and rebirth. She gives a depth of meaning to Isis' symbolism.

Great to have you here!

My apologies for using 'Bastet'. We have a forum member by that name, and I've come to think of it as an affectionate name for the goddess, when working with her.
No apologies needed; later scribes did write it that way (with double feminine endings). And in my post mentioning "Bastet" as my favourite there was what was meant to be a slightly veiled reference to "our" Bastet.

Isis, a woman who loved as he loved her, who went out of her we to bring him back from the pieces that he was turned into, after dancinig his way into different countrys by partying, not invading by killing, love the both of then for the dedication for the creation and for each other..

For me(as a Warrior) the Egyptian goddess that's my favorite is Sekhmet. Her name means "She who is Powerful". She is the Warrior Goddess(at lest originally).

I haven't studied Egyptian mythology as much as I'd like, so I'm most familiar with Isis, but I adore Neil Gaiman's portrayal of Bast in Sandman.

I know I said Ma'at years ago in this thread, while she still interests me, Nephthys intrigues me more.

I guess my number one goddess would be Isis.

Afterall it was she who inspired the Virgin Mary...;)

Yet another things the Christians stole from my religion. Oh well, at least those that invented it tried to send their followers kind of down the right path. I see it as a shortcut through an alley though.

Nephthys is also the guide through the duat.

I also like Ma'at.
