I think a lot of these organizations that are trying to impede homosexuality are being set up. Just look at all the unnecessary strife and conflict among the world (just the strife and conflict exemplified on RF) regarding this topic and it is easy to see that this conflict could escalate into harder feelings and harsher actions. Could this be the intention of a peaceful God?
On the one side there is a God that doesn’t really seem offended by homosexuality and has different representatives to stand by and take the brunt and responsibility for this so called offense. But the problem (as these organizations see it) doesn’t really seem to be residing. There are some states that allow homosexual marriages, there are some churches that are accepting of homosexual clergy, homosexuals are beginning to start families and there does not seem to be anyway to stop homosexuality leaving anyone who hears about a God that is proclaimed to be angry or insulted by homosexuality, powerless, ineffectual and unimpressive.
There is the reality that God does not offer humans one iota of evidence that He is even slightly concerned with homosexuals or homosexuals marrying. There is no evidence or indication that God is even slightly inclined to address or correct this offense so this leaves me no option then to concentrate on the intentions and motives of the people behind such proclamations of immorality.
For all those people who believe that homosexuality is immoral, wrong or offensive to God, if God does not care, impede or justifiably penalize homosexuals and what homosexuals do, why should humans take such a stern stance against homosexuality? If God cannot (and will not) do anything about homosexuality, what makes you think you can make a difference? Do organizations that preach the immorality of homosexuality revel in the conflict with their fellow man? Do they look forward to the inevitable segregation that will eventually happen when they speak so loudly against homosexuality? What is the appeal or objective of keeping the belief that God is offended by homosexuality alive?
