God and Reason​

With the advent of the Uncertainty Principal and the Relativity Principals, and now newly found phenomena of Dark Matter, and Dark Energy, and also the existence of the singularity points, and favorable properties of the five known forces of the nature, and extremely precise and favorable values of the Universal Constants, and also many favorable structural properties of the atoms and the molecules, we do have serious problems understanding and grasping the functionality of this extremely fine-tuned Universe. Now, why do we think the Creator who has full control of every particle in this magnificent Universe should be easy to comprehend with this limited intelligence of ours!?

Since when we can dismiss a puzzle just because the puzzle does not make any sense to our intelligence at present time!? Is it possible that the puzzle might be beyond the limitation of our present logic and we can not digest its dynamics with our existing intelligence?

Most of our mystery novels are dealing with some puzzles which they seem impossible scenarios in the beginning, but they have very plausible answer at the end. Hoaxes are the other kind of puzzles which we logically resolve them by exposing their falsehood.

Holy Koran [38:75] He said, "O Satan, what prevented you from prostrating before what I created with My hands? Are you too arrogant? Have you rebelled?"

Oh, please give me a break! How long can we remain this Gullible!?
Maybe these kinds of Myths were sufficient for the primitive Man, but believing in this kind of myth is quite an embarrassment for an educated Man! Man was formed through evolutionary process, as Darwin discovered it precisely. Our new scientific achievements have enabled us to have a clearer view of this evolution. In this process every cell has a conscience of its environment. This conscience is patiently on the march to improve its understanding of its environment. Our individual conscience is just a building block toward advancing this process! Only at its latest stage this consciousness has started to sense the presence of the Creator. And it seems to me our conscience has been guided by our Creator for expanded recognition of this process! Only at this latest stage we have been blessed for such enlightenment. And please do not misunderstand me about the people who reject this assertion, every one of us are in this process altogether. However each one of us is empowered to play a different role! Our debates are one of the great sources for strengthening our logics.

In this view good and bad, angels and evils are the necessary components for advancing the consciousness. Sometimes we achieve our wisdom and enlightenments through pain, hostility, or adversity, and sometimes through pleasures, successes, or triumphs, and sometimes through the harsh acts of the nature, and sometimes through the evils of the evildoers, and sometimes through nurturing environments of the nature, and sometimes through the good deeds of the decent people. All these diverse experiences are necessary for advancing the consciousness. Without all these diverse experiences the consciousness will not be fully developed. All our primitive religions have played a major role in the development of our present consciousness. Those rich experiences of the past are the stepping stones in this process. A fully enriched consciousness empowers us to have a more accurate view of the glory of the Creator.

We do need all these diverse conflicting emotions until our intelligence reaches to the maturity point that we do not need these competing and conflicting stimuli any more. At that point the joy of discovering new horizons, or the burden of solving the life threatening environmental issues will be more powerful than the stimuli of these primitive and sometimes very destructive and savage behaviors. At that point we will feel the weight of the responsibly of the whole consciousness on our shoulders. And that responsibility will overshadow the petty grievances or the small gains and pleasures which motivate us these days.

I've never read anything that throws all the scientific terms in one pot like this. You even know what they stand for? How can you put the universal constant in the same argument as the principals of the theory of relativity?

My friend, yes I do know what these terms stand for and how they are applied in physics! In fact one of the postulates which the Special Theory of Relativity is founded on; is based on postulating the Speed of Light as a Universal Constant!

If you are really interested to acquire more knowledge on each of these terms there are many web sites explaining those terms very extensively. The reason that you have never seen these many scientific terms are put in one paragraph, because you have never been exposed to my argument! All these scientific discoveries happened though hard and long work of some devoted scientists, and we are enjoying the fruit of their discoveries. Every one of these scientific terms is pointing to some aspects of the complexity of our Universe. My argument is clearly pointing to these complexities. Of course ignoring this point might give you some cynical point of attack!

The experiences of God's interactions with us are far more diverse and complicated than all the variety of feelings that we experience throughout our life. We get excited by falling in love or by discovering of the secrets of nature. We get inspired by the nature beauties or by a severe tragic event. We get enchanted by a nice musical tune. We feel ah by something like viewing an image from Hubble satellite. We feel horrible observing the atrocities of some evil minds. We get devastated by the natural disasters. And so on. All of these emotions and experiences in our minds create the capabilities to be able to sense the nuances of the God's interactions with us.

A young person could become consumed with love of God just by following a charismatic preacher. This devoted love happens because of the enormous trust that the young person has on the knowledge of the religion scholars and leaders. As the young followers grow up and they mature with their own reasoning, then some of those independent minds realize how inapt those religious leaders are, and they break away from those phony theologies with great disappointments. Later in their life some of those bright independent minds reflect by digisting the rich experiences of their own life and then they start sensing the puzzling interactions that God had with them throughout their life, and they were too busy to properly ponder about them and to recognize their significance. In lieu of not finding a suitable organization, they usually end up flocking to the old established religions. In this phase they usually are passive about the contradictions of their religions. Let us face it that is an easy and convenient way out to satisfy that craving need!

Our Reality​

“I think, therefore I am!”

This is a profound statement from Rene Descartes which encapsulates the nature of our existence and our reality. But our emotions and our thoughts are very unstable, unreliable, and illusional. However this is the foundation of our reality, and our belief systems!

We live in a period in space-time. In this space-time period our environment feed us the raw material for our thoughts and our opinions. As far as we can say by our present school of thoughts, our thoughts are purely the product of our mind and nothing more. We know all our perceptions are the results of our perceived thoughts, and we can not escape from this puzzling dilemma. In other word anything beyond the scope of our thoughts, as far as we are concerned, is meaningless. As you see our thoughts are trapped within the domain of our thoughts, and there is no way out of this trap, this is like a black hole for our thoughts. Even our science which is based on some well tested axioms and experiments, does not exist outside of our thoughts. This is our thoughts which according to our own rational acknowledge and validate those scientific axioms and the result of those experiments, and there is nothing more in that process.

Now, if our reality is defined by our thoughts, then what happens if our thoughts are proven to be wrong or invalid!? What happens to our reality if our thoughts are engulfed with some wrong ideas!? If our entire thoughts are illusional then that puts the nature of our assumed reality in a very precarious situation! This assertion is not that imaginary or that far fetched, this illusional reality happens all the time, a vivid example of it, happened to the German people during the Nazi regime. German people’s reality was channeled to a deep hole of a very illusional nature. The illusions, or the reality, of those German people were much more real than a lot of our present illusions, and the proof for this statement lays in the fact that those Germans, at least during 1938 – 1940, considered Hitler as their hero and almost equal to Messiah! So our perception of reality is not isolated from our illusions. Since our thoughts are subject to the influences of our environment then that makes our reality is very fluent. Our “presumed notion of Reality” can not be happy, now that we realize it is based on such illusional foundations!

In a similar fashion these days we can observe other misconceptions that control the reality of many people, for example for long time we thought the earth was flat and the center of the Universe! We feel that we are stationary on the surface of this earth! Some people think that Jesus is equal to God and he is our savior! Some people think that Holy Koran is word of God! Some people think that Bahaullah was God, he was Jesus, he was Imam Hussein, and so on! We clearly can see that these thoughts have no merits either, and they are as illusional as those Nazi’s ideologies. Yet, these false ideas are occupying the thoughts of many people today.

As I mentioned before our reality is subject to the influences of our environment. So, naturally we can influence the reality of people around us, sometimes by a new discovery, sometimes by a financial opportunity, sometimes by music or poetry, sometimes by a new political ideology, sometimes by a new spiritual ideology, and so on. Realization of this fluency and flimsy nature of our reality guides us to be a little bit more sensitive and more receptive toward the other people’s ideology. And the puzzle and the solution lay in these amazing diversities! This realization may lead us to understand the nature of our own thought processes. I will explore this critical point on my next post. I think this will lead us to a mind altering discovery.

A Common Supernatural Phenomenon​

Since the publication of the “The Origin of Species” by Charles Darwin on November 24, 1859 the academic world immediately recognized the significance of this magnificent theory which totally discredited the Abrahamic Holy Books. Since then there have been numerous debates and discussions to resolve this two different views of Man’s history on this planet. There have been many attempts to discredit the validity of the “Theory of Evolution of Species”. But persistently all the research in the scientific fields have proven the validity of the “Theory of Evolution of Species” beyond any doubt.

Many religious fanatics allege that the “Theory of Evolution of Species” is just a theory and it is not a scientific fact. These illiterate fanatics are so dumb that they want to teach to the scientists about the scientific methodology! Actually, all credible scientists without any hesitation acknowledge that the “Theory of Evolution of Species” is a very Sound Scientific Theory. This is science at its best. Just a lunatic person would think otherwise. We all owe a great deal of gratitude to Charles Darwin for such a magnificent discovery. He was brilliant. His genius mind was one of a kind, which opened our eyes to appreciate God’s Creation to its fullest extend. Shame on the people who foolishly challenge such in-depth knowledge! They are a disgrace to human intelligence!

Here I need to apologize to the believers for using such an offensive language! I do understand the pain and resentment that such impression causes on the believers. But, what I said is the image of the believers in the circuits of the educated and the intellectuals. This is absolutely crucial that I emphasize the full frustration of the academic world about this odd behavior of the believers. However my apology at this point, it seems so confusing because in one hand I purposely used such offensive language and then I apologized for it! This flip flop sounds so weird! Soon you will see my rational for this strange assertion. Believers are revealing something about our existence that is even more fundamental than the “Theory of Evolution of Species”!

The “Theory of Evolution of Species” is a SCIENTIFIC theory that shows how Man has evolved from earlier life forms in the Tree of Life. This fact proves beyond any doubt the falsehood of the Creation of Man which is expressed in the Abrahamic Holy Books. So the following verses are simply false.

Holy Bible Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the earth.”1:27 God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.
2:7 The Lord God formed the man from the soil of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
2:21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was asleep, he took part of the man’s side and closed up the place with flesh. 2:22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the part he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. 2:23 Then the man said, “This one at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; this one will be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”

Holy Koran [38:71] Your Lord said to the angels, "I am creating a human being from clay. [38:72] "Once I design him, and blow into him from My spirit, you shall fall prostrate before him." [38:73] The angels fell prostrate, all of them, [38:74] except Satan; he refused, and was too arrogant, unappreciative. [38:75] He said, "O Satan, what prevented you from prostrating before what I created with My hands? Are you too arrogant? Have you rebelled?"

In the debate for the history of man on this planet it is proven that the “The Origin of Species” is right and for sure the Abrahamic Holy Books are wrong. Of course this evidence is amongst many other evidences which discredit the claims of the Abrahamic Holy Books. Now, in light of such strong indisputable scientific evidence the question arises why still the believers so ignorantly follow their proven false religions? The answer to this question is extremely complex. In my quest to find a partial answer to this question, I like to focus only on the Educated Abrahamic Believers. These Educated Abrahamic Believers are at least well informed about the nature of the deficiencies of their belief system. Their formal educations and trainings have taught them about the structure of a sound logical argument, about the proper scientific methods, about the consistency and the beauty that science presents, about the fruits of the technologies that science has been generating, about the necessity of being honest and truthful when someone is searching for knowledge, and so on. With such educational background isn’t this odd that some of the educated believers are still dismissing science, so openly, in favor of some proven false theologies!? It seems it is easier for these educated believers to maintain their irrational faith, than just abandon their embarrassing faith and accept its falsehood. The educated believers absorb all the evidences regarding the falsehood of their faith, and they quietly continue practicing their faulty faiths.

A Common Supernatural Phenomenon

Amongst the Educated Abrahamic Believers there are many intellectuals, many philosophers, many writers, many artists, many scientists, many doctors, many judges, many attorneys, many system analysts, many educators, many researchers, many bright students, many professionals, many sharp business people, and so on. We can make some educated guesses why these very bright educated people are still following their faulty faiths which their falsehoods have been proven to them so vividly. Some of the reasons for this peculiar behavior lay in the structures of our societies. We have very rich society structures, breaking those structures are very hard and painful, and maybe very harmful for our well beings. Socially, Politically, and Economically we are benefiting from those society structures. So for all those benefits it is practical and maybe it is wise for some Educated Abrahamic Believers to ignore the falsehood of their faith, and put aside all those damning scientific evidences and keep following their faith. Because practicing their faith have some real benefits for them. For example Barack Obama could not be elected as President of USA if he was not a Christian. Of course such benefits do not include all the educated believers. On contrary in an academic environment such educated believers are carrying a negative stigma. And for the educated believers in the minority groups not only there are no benefits, but there are some real burdens too! They may even suffer for practicing their faiths! For example some Muslims in the Christian communities are at some disadvantage, and they may be treated quite unfairly, and the same is true for some Christians in the Muslim communities. In such environments these educated believers have to put up some extra efforts to tolerate the abuses against themselves for practicing their faiths. There are many of such educated minority believers all around us and we can locate them readily in every community. For these educated believers there is no benefit at all for practicing their faiths except within their own strange minds. Jewish people have suffered for their faith throughout their history, for all those suffering they deserve to be given the title of the “Chosen People”! Of course many Jews converted to the other faiths to survive. This was a natural thing to do in order to save their lives. However many of them stubbornly remained faithful to Judaism despite of all the life threatening dangers to their survival.

Now, I like to ask why these educated minority believers still put up with all these burdens and they sacrifice for their faiths which are proven to them very logically their falsehood? Of course this behavior is not isolated just to Abrahamic Faith, this is in all religions. This peculiar behavior indicates that something alters the brain of these Educated Believers that they act so irrational against their academic training. The educated believers can not provide us any reasonable answer, what is it, that makes them to behave so irrationally on this particular issue? What makes them to have such tendency toward a belief which it is proven to them its falsehood? For this question they just express that this is a private matter for them, and no further explanation is given. This shows the answer to this fair question even eludes these people’s conscience minds. This puzzling behavior has been with humans since Man acquired the complex thinking power. Scientifically we can not identify anything in the living creatures that would be more dominating than the force for survival, and yet this desire and this obsession to remain faithful in some believers go even beyond that vital survival instinct. If a believer is cornered and his/her survival depends purely on his/her conversion, and his/her conversion has no impact on his/her fellow believers or anybody else, and the poor believer refuses to abandon his/her belief, then there is something very un-natural about this peculiar behavior, some mysterious force is at play in this crazy and un-natural behavior, which begs for a recognition. This peculiar behavior can properly be identified as a supernatural phenomenon. By definition a supernatural phenomenon manifest itself despite of violating some known forces of nature. This supernatural phenomenon stares us openly and challenges us to find an answer for this peculiar behavior. This observation is as vivid as the "Departed Red Sea" miracle which is celebrated in the Abrahamic Faiths. Because everybody can observe this odd behavior of the educated believers and validate the existence of this strange phenomenon beyond any doubt!

If this peculiar behavior happens in just few people in one or two societies we could call this a disease, that occasionally affects a group of people, maybe because of their genes or maybe because of something in their particular environments. But this symptom is widespread and it is affecting many people in all societies. These educated believers are otherwise very normal and rational people in every other way except in this particular issue that they get haywire. This symptom is universal, these educated believers they all refer to this as a transcendent knowledge which can not be explained rationally in our established logic. This peculiar behavior reminds me of the behavior of Richard Dreyfuss in the 1977 movie "Close Encounter of the Third Kind".

Clearly something is at display here which we can observe its effects without being able to detect its source or its nature. This is similar to the effect of Black Hole, or Dark Matter, or Dark Energy in the natural world. For these physical objects we have no problem accepting their existence, even though we only observe the effects of these objects on their surroundings. Similarly we can observe the affect of a mysterious force on the cognition of the educated believers that causes them to behave so irrationally. I wonder how can we dismiss the existence of a force which has such clear impact on the cognition of the believers? This behavior reveals that the believers have no choice controlling their own thoughts, and they simply follow what really make sense to them. They can not help it if their cognition is influenced by something which we yet to comprehend its nature.

I believe these altering influences could happen continuously at sub-quantum level without us ever being able to detect their presence. Thanks to Quantum Theory that enlightened us with such a strange possibility.

God and Time​

Science has revealed Space and Time came into existence at the Big Bang. In other word space and time had no meaning, or had no existence, before the Big Bang. This means God existed when there was no Time. Then, we have to conclude since God was the initiator of the Universe and the Time then the element of Time does not apply to God. Since the materials of this Universe are all associated with the element of Time, then God’s body is not made of from the materials of this Universe.

According to the Holy Bible Jesus Christ was borne and was nurtured by mother Mary, and he grew up to preach his message throughout Palestine. Later on Jewish High Priest and then Roman Governor put him on trial and convicted him, and then the Roman Governor crucified him like an ordinary convict. According to the Holy Bible the resurrected Jesus Christ had the scars of the crucifixion when he visited his beloved disciples. The story of Jesus Christ clearly indicates that Time had complete impact on the development of Jesus’ Body. In this aspect Jesus Body was developed like the body of an ordinary man. Body of Jesus Christ, who presumably ascended to Heaven, was developed by the minerals of this earth. From this background it is very clear that the body of Jesus Christ was not formed from the same substance as that of God.

This is crystal clear that at 325 AD those 318 bishops in Council of Nicaea made a grieve mistake by elevating Jesus status to that of God. Now, the question is; why the Christians ignorantly insist on that obvious mistake? If we are serious about understanding God, then it is too ignorant that we formed the concept of God on an obvious mistake. The question of God is too important to be founded on such an unforgivable blunder.

As we observe such a wide open hoax should not be able to captivate over two billions Christians today and so many bright Christian thinkers for many past centuries. This phenomenon is what I called “A Common Supernatural Phenomenon” in my previous post. This supernatural phenomenon clearly points to the existence of a supreme force which constantly alters our thoughts and our perceptions.

Jesus Crucifixion​

Christianity tells us that Jesus was crucified for our Original Sin.

This means that the Loving God created Man with Original Sin, in order to get crucified by Man, and then by the act of Crucifixion to wipe out that Original Sin from Man!

So, by crucifying Jesus Christ, Man was rewarded, and our Original Sin was wiped out!

So, Jesus Crucifixion was a beneficial act for all Man-Kind.

Now, the question arises, the Christians should have thanked Jews for Jesus Crucifixion, and not cursing them and killing them throughout the centuries! And, why there are verses and revelations that condemn Jews for Jesus Crucifixion!?

God and Our Free Will​

Let us pray: “God grant me the Serenity to accept the things that I can not change, and Courage to change the things that I can, and wisdom always to tell the difference.”

In our common logic the idea of all knowledgeable God is in direct contradiction with the idea of our Free Will or our Free Choices. The logic is so simple and straight forward; if God knows all our future conducts then that knowledge will deny us any Free Choices. This means that we have to perform exactly with what is already written in the mind of God, without any deviation. So, with this back ground we are forced to conclude that our sense of Free Choices is just an illusion on our part! On the other hand if we insist that our Free Choices are real, then we have to abandon the concept of all knowledgeable God, because our Free Choices do deny God to know our selected Choices, and that is against our definition of all knowledgeable God! It seems there is a structural impasse reconciling and accepting both of these two concepts simultaneously! Of course at this point the Agnostics and the Atheists would suggest dropping the concept of God would solve the contradiction! But I did address the proof of God’s existence in my article entitled: “A Common Supernatural Phenomenon”.

Let us examine a religious story.

I do not accept the elevated divine status which the believers have assigned to their Holy Books. I believe these Holy Books are written by Man and they are written in the same pattern like any other subject matter which some thinkers got inspired and they wrote about their inspirations. The Holy Books are the accumulated experiences and theories about God which Man has acquired throughout the ages. Of course like any other fields there are plenty of mistakes and naïve ideas within these Holy Scriptures. I think we can cherry pick and entertain some of those ideas which carry some enlighten points, and we can benefit from those acquired wisdom.

Luke 22:33 But Peter said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!” 22:34 Jesus replied, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know me.”
Luke22:37 “... For what is written about me is being fulfilled.”

Luke 22:54 Then they arrested Jesus, led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter was following at a distance. 22:55 When they had made a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them. 22:56 Then a slave girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight, stared at him and said, “This man was with him too!” 22:57 But Peter denied it: “Woman, I don’t know him.” 22:58 Then a little later someone else saw him and said, “You are one of them too.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.” 22:59 And after about an hour still another insisted, “Certainly this man was with him, because he too is a Galilean.” 22:60 But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” At that moment, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed. 22:61 Then the Lord turned and looked straight at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.” 22:62 And he went outside and wept bitterly.

According to this religious story Apostle Peter out of his love and his devotion for Jesus, he had followed Jesus and he had put himself in a danger zone, as a result he was forced to denounce Jesus three times. Apostle Peter’s natural responses was totally against his conscience and against his Free Will. And then Apostle Peter realized that Jesus knew his future conducts!

The mystery of Apostle Peter’s Free Will is encapsulated in this point, that Apostle Peter regretted about his denunciations of knowing Jesus. This is the paradox of our Free Will; that the out come of our conducts is known ahead of our time, but we do feel that we are in control of our responses, and somehow we can change our fate! According to our daily common logic it seems our feelings in this matter are inherently illusional! It is not important that this story is a fiction or a non-fiction. The important thing is this; that this story strongly resonant with our personal daily life experiences. And perhaps this is the main reason that these religions have endured despite of their many obvious mistakes.

Our intelligence from early times has picked up the notion of powerful Gods, or maybe we are hard-wired in believing in divine power. Anyway, gradually our logic has refined those early notions of Gods and we logically have reached to the concept of only One God with Ultimate power and capabilities. As our logics have improved we have come to the realization of the contradiction which exists within accepting both concepts at the same time. It is amazing that at this stage of our intelligence we are forced to wrestle with the complexities of the apparent contradiction within accepting both concepts.

God and Our Free Will

I do believe in all powerful, all knowledgeable, and interactive God, who is involved with every details of our lives and quite often he sets us up with some exceptional favorable opportunities, and sometimes with some very delicate challenging choices, and sometimes enlighten us with some fascinating inspirations. But by the nature of our simple logic which I mentioned earlier it seems believing in such a dominating God does reduce us to more or less like a robot!

Believing that we are acting like a robot in fact diminishes the glory and the essence of our intelligence. The whole-mark of our intelligence hinges upon the elegance of our self empowering and self determining intelligence! Reducing such intelligence to the status of a robot which is directed by a mighty God is indeed an insult to both parties; to us and to God! The notion of us acting as robots reduces our capabilities, and at the same time it does diminish the glory and the capability of God! This Universe which evolves and produces such glorious self determining creatures is the ultimate masterpiece in Creation, and we have to acknowledge these creatures with their fullest capabilities, anything less which is controlled by an invisible force it is doomed to a logically incoherent, and some absurd conclusions.

By exploring the idea of the robot scenario we do end up with an absurd and grave ramification which nullify and contradicts with the concept of a complete God to begin with! The God who needs to exaggerate and to misrepresent about the capabilities of his creation (that his creatures have Free Will) in fact that shows his deficiency! Because he has failed to create the self determining creatures, and that deficiency limits God’s power and God’s capabilities, and that is not acceptable. God who has failed to create self determining creatures, and instead like a magician he has resorted to the deception of an illusion to hide his inability of creating self determining creatures, that God loses his status to be all powerful God! In fact any entity that needs to deceive lacks the ultimate power. The divine power has to promote the Truth without any limitations or any qualifications; that is one of the essential characteristics that we have conceptualized about God.

We have to accept our “Free Will” as a fact and not as an illusion, because the alternative causes us to reduce the capability of God. Also, if we believe in God then we are forced to accept that God has all the knowledge about the past, the present, and the future. Now, we need to reevaluate how we can reconcile these two apparently contradictory concepts. If we have to accept both of these concepts as facts then maybe the problem is not with those concepts rather than with our logic!

Now, let us examine the issue of our logic. We all feel that we are stationary on the surface of this earth, and we do reject anybody who questions the validity of that comfortable feeling. This is the way we feel and that is that, and there is nothing that could shake our certainty about this serene feeling. But, in reality we have discovered that we are moving in the space in four different directions with dizzying speeds! But, because of the earth’s gravity and the vastness of the Universe none of us feel any of those dizzying motions! So, our common feeling which generates our logic is not that trustworthy! Our common feeling that we are stationary is not because we are residing on a motionless earth, rather than the force of earth’s gravity combined with the vastness of the space has hidden all the motions that we are subjected to, and that has given us this illusional stationary feeling! Illusionary feeling in this case has generating certain thoughts, which we see clearly has led us to wrong conclusions. Faulty feelings generate wrong assumptions and wrong conclusions, and as a result they create faulty logics in our thoughts!

The other issue which lately has cast great confusion in our ordinary thoughts is the advent of Quantum Physics. The observation of some experiments with photons, atoms, and sub-atomic particles science has been forced to invent the strange theory of Quantum Physics. Our logical minds have been forced to imagine duality nature for these tiny particles. This conclusion was realized while experimenting about the nature of these tiny particles. These tiny particles in some experiments could be explained as particles and in some other experiments they need to be explained as waves. This is very puzzling phenomenon which as far as we are concern have to be conceptualized as the inherent properties of all tiny particles. According to Quantum Theory these tiny particles strangely can be at many places at the same time. Well, the meaning of “at the same time” has also been altered! The exact time of our information about these tiny particles has become fuzzy and uncertain too! Now that we have realized the foundations of all our thoughts are based on the motions of these fuzzy particles, that makes the nature of our thoughts and our logics very fuzzy too! Quantum Theory denies us some of the clear-cut certainty that we always had relayed on as a sound logic. At the level of these tiny particles the nature of our thoughts and our ideas drastically changes, and we are facing with very complicated and confusing scenarios which have far different behaviors than we are used to in our daily life. And strangely enough along with these new findings our intelligence is expanding too! We are realizing that this Universe is far more complex than we had ever imagined! And still there is no end in sight how deep these confusing ever growing complexities may continue! With every in depth knowledge that we acquire, we continue facing with more confusing complexities! These new findings at least should have taught us the humility of being humble about our Firm Ideologies! In this expanding complexities, yes it is possible that God to know the outcome of our decisions and mutually we have the Freedom of Choice, without having any philosophical impasse! This is similar to the notion of finding the tiny particles to be at many places at the same time! The complexity and the capabilities of our intelligence are far greater than we have ever imagined so far, and God is far greater than we could ever grasp the nature of his being. This is too absurd to imagine that God is an old man residing in Paradise! After all we read that Paradise was located somewhere on this earth, then we have to conclude by losing the Paradise God has lost his Garden and his home!

In my article entitled “A Common Supernatural Phenomenon” I proved God’s existence. And now we see dropping the idea of our Free Will is not an option; because the concept of our Free Will emerges from the concept of all Powerful God, creating a masterpiece. Yes, we may still not be convinced of how to reconcile our Free Will with the concept of God. But, we know for fact these two concepts are mutually enhancing and glorifying one another.

With totally disregarding about all the underlying complexities of nature, sometimes in a puzzling manner we do get the notion that maybe this unknowable God is blessing us with the notion that he indeed is communicating with us, and he is directing us with our certain decision making! Just the notion of these communications gives us greater in depth knowledge about Reality, and it seems in a lengthily manner this process is all about developing and nurturing more sophisticated and capable intelligence, and gradually this intelligence is getting empowered with more new capabilities! So many complicated things with so many well-tuned and favorable properties have been provided in order this intelligence to be realized.

Why do I believe in God?​

I like to portray my evolution, from practicing Islam, to being a non-believer, and back to being a believer! However, I am not following any established religions. In my view they are clearly primitive and simply wrong, but not without some inherent merits.

I practiced Islam up to age 23, then, I abandoned Islam for its deficiencies and its falsehoods, then, for many years I did not bother with any religion at all, though I was interested in the history and the evolutions of all belief systems. Then, around age 50 I had some free time to ponder more about the subject. That was about 13 years ago! Now I believe in God!

Many factors contributed to this final step in the evolution of my thoughts. One aspect of my new belief was drawn from pure reasoning. One version of plausible reasoning goes as follows. Nobody disputes that we have acquired our intelligence and our consciousness from the complex fabric of this Universe. So, this Universe possesses the capability to produce sophisticated intelligence with consciousness. It does not matter if such capability was there at the inception of the Universe at the big bang, or it was interjected to it during its long evolutionary process. Now that this Universe has given rise to intelligent Human beings with consciousness then this Universe itself must possess the intelligence and the consciousness. This is like the relationship between a programmer and the computer software that he/she writes. The software acquires its intelligence from the programmer. In other word the programmer has to have the intelligence in order to be able to convey such intelligence to the software. It is true that in many processes our computers has left us in their dust, but no matter how powerful they can get still they have drawn their intelligence and their capabilities from us! And it is quite possible some day HAL from 2001 Space Odyssey becomes a reality. In that case we still will be at the foundation of its birth. Another example of this process is in the relationship that exists between a coach and his/her players. So, we can conclude that this Universe has to possess the intelligence and the consciousness in order to produce intelligent human beings with such awareness.

This thought puts this Universe out of the realm of a mindless structure which behaves randomly and without any intrinsic intelligence. Such Intelligence as far as we know it requires a blueprint and an intelligent designer who has produced the structure.

We confidently judge that all the artifacts, including the ones that we find in all the archeological sites, they are all the products of some intelligent human beings. I wonder how we can deny the same conclusion about the structure of this extremely sophisticated Universe!? Such an elegant enterprise with such sophisticated conscious has to be the product of an intelligent supreme designer! If you still are not convinced of the validity of this logic, then let me ask you the following question; how do you define that a system has intelligence? Isn’t it enough if that system on its own performs some intelligent processes? And by raising Human Beings this is exactly what this Universe as a system has done, and we all can readily agree with it unanimously.

Why do I believe in God?

The other factor which guided me toward believing in God came from pondering about the path of my personal life. Through that examination I thought about some of the events and circumstances which they had directed my life toward a certain path, which they were totally beyond my control. I realized those events were not that random! And it seemed an invisible force mysteriously had been influencing the structure of my life! Was I imagining those things!? Maybe! But, those circumstances convinced me personally about the existence of an invisible force which profoundly was influencing my environment and my life! Those events were so personal that they only could make sense to me individually, and by no means they could be considered as an evidence for anybody else! However, if someone else would have had similar personal experiences then they would understand the dynamic of those moments that I am pointing to. Here it is important to mention that, even though I experienced those events personally, at no time I was certain that my analyses of those experiences were one hundred percent correct! There were always some lingering doubts that I needed to re-examine my findings again and again. And most of those vivid experiences do fade away from my memory as time goes by, unless I had made an effort writing them done. Quite often I need to remind myself of the gravity of those special moments in order to comfort myself that I was not hallucinating! The scarcity of those special events made me to realize; since I was affectionately interested understanding the Truth, then occasionally the Force had blessed me with those special rare events to get a sense of the underlying Truth! And there, they were, those special rare moments to grasp some glimpse of the Reality that I was so interested to understand it! I realized those rare enlightening moments they were with me all the time, and they were not that rare at all, but I needed a blessing in order to recognize their existence and their dynamics! Otherwise, I would be too mute or too pre-occupied to recognize them! Certainly I needed some solace moments to digest the gravity of those enlightened events. I concluded that those enlightened events are routine for everybody, but we only need a blessing to recognize their existence!

Of course, I assume the conclusion which I drew based on those experiences was the products of my own thoughts. And I do acknowledge the possibilities that I might have drawn wrong conclusion! We only can use our rational to judge about something, and many factors could fool us and lead us to some wrong conclusions! For the past ten or fifteen years off and on I have been pondering about the validity of the invisible God. Now, I positively believe in God. One might charge that I have become delusional! And that still might be a possibility! But, I can defend my position with a sound logic! Someone prayed: “If God be real, my only prayer is for him to understand that I cannot believe in what I cannot substantiate!” I say “Amen” to that pray. This desire has to be at the heart of any constructive thoughts. Especially in the domain of the belief systems which they are dominating our daily lives. Otherwise, we would be impeaching ourselves without any excuse! Unfortunately, a lot of times many of us do that without any shame!

The essence of any valid theory is in its assumptions, in its reasoning, and above all in its consistency with our experiments. We have labeled such theories as scientific. Of course we do not get unanimous consent to the validity of many theories, and that is natural. Based on this background we have to accept that the natural science has proved the falsehood of the Genesis Story with many powerful evidences. And this new found knowledge reveals the nature of the Holy Books! The Holy Books were not dictated to the Human beings by God! They are the enlightened inspirations which Man has acquired throughout the ages about God, about life, and about the purpose of our lives. As our knowledge has grown those Holy Books need to be updated and that is an obvious conclusion. And everybody knows such a change and admission would be the end of those primitive and confused theologies. And that progress would eliminate the existing established religions and those elevated powerful positions! We do know the authorities who are controlling these religions are extremely powerful. So, obviously they are not in any rush to relinquish their powerful position voluntarily! And that should be expected too! Because throughout the history, only very few exceptional souls departed from their power voluntarily. Buddha was one of them. President George Washington was another one.

There is lots of profound wisdom in the Holy Books about the nature of Man and his relation with Mighty God. I think Holy Books are among of many theories that Man has devised to explain the function and the nature of God and they define a purpose of our lives. It would be very short sighted if we disregard many of the valuable contributions that these religions have provided for the Human growth. There are some profound lessons even in their rigid and brutal practices. Our modern enlightened aspirations for Humanity have been realized directly from the contributions of those rigid, intimidating, harsh, brutal, and even the most savage practices of those religions! One only needs to evaluate the effect of those primitive and harsh practices with their actual outcomes. These outcomes have clearly demonstrated how we were forced to unleash the power of our brain! Please, do not resort to any hypothetical theory in order to discredit this conclusion! The evidence for this conclusion is virtually portrayed in the overall outcome of the people who crudely struggled with those religions. An example for this process would be our old perceptions about wolfs. We used to consider wolfs as a menace and a killer, and we used to desire to eliminate them completely, but we have learnt about wolfs’ contribution for a healthy wild life environment, and now we appreciate their presence and their contributions. The same it goes for Snakes.

Isn’t it interesting in Genesis Story, Snakes are identified as an agent for the devil!? This shows the writers of those religious stories how naïve they were! But through those very primitive stories something much bigger has been achieved! Our modern science has taught us to examine any issue holistically, so we need to do the same for the impact of believing in God in Humans’ societies and in Humans’ psyche. The concept of God has impacted us in many levels. Some might points to the rewarding aspects of it, and some in destructive aspect of it, but the truth of the matter lies in the net outcome that our achievements present.

Naturally as our knowledge grows we have to update our spiritual theories. Our modern science has shown us how fruitful this process is. After all, our science is in total harmony with the best gift that God has awarded us; our logical brain! Of course, this is the path if we are only interested in the Truth. And we all know our individual interests are very complex thing too, and on top of that it keeps evolving all the time!

In search of a tangible evidence for existence of God​

For a long time some creationist scholars have been looking at the evolutionary processes of this Universe, and they have been trying to find God’s influences in forming some of these processes! That was totally a wrong approach and fundamentally flawed at its core. In fact those attempts undermined the extreme sophistication which exists in the structure of this Universe, and in a sense those efforts was a direct insult to the glory of the Creator who designed this fabulous Universe! Those very limited scholars gravely underestimated the essence of the perfectly designed Universe! No wonder that they failed so miserably! God created this Universe with a perfect design that it did not need any tweaking along its long evolutionary path!

From observing this magnificent Universe, with its known complexities as far as we have discovered them so far, the thing that it stands up in this great enterprise is the development of life and its intelligence. Intelligence is the Jewel in the crown! It seems the glory of this Universe boils down on its capability to produce this extremely complex Intelligence. Our observations of this glorious Universe show that not only this Universe develops intelligence, and when this intelligence reaches to its maturity, this Universe is also a fascinating environment for providing abundance of satisfying information for feeding the intelligence! The limitation which exists in the speed of light has preserved the history of the evolution of the cosmos. The rocks, the ocean settlement layers, polar ice, and so on . . . , they have preserved the history of earth and the history of life. The archeological sites have preserved the history of human cultures.

Mutation in genes is the process which is creating the diversity of life, also that mutation creates birth defects. By COMPARING the genes in the birth defects with the healthy genes, that has given us an enormous boosts in deciphering the functions of genes, otherwise it would have been very sluggish process identifying the functions of each gene. So, before we hastily criticize the cruelty which exists in the birth defects, we need to see its tremendous benefits which such mutations offer for improving the capabilities of life, and the benefits which offer educating our intelligence, even though those deformed individuals suffer enormously.

There are many favorable properties in the raw materials which we use in the development of our technologies. Our computers have been great help in empowering our brain by many folds. Over all we have been given a superb stimulating environment and a powerful brain to learn and to discover the mysteries of this complex system which has delivered us. These learning processes are enhancing the capabilities of our brain, to acquire more complex logics. For sure these enhanced capabilities are essential to grasp a gleam of the magnificent glory of the Creator, with some satisfying accuracy, and away from the illusionary construct of our active imaginations.

Our intelligence is very complex and it possesses extreme diversities and it is the source of our unquenchable thirsts for knowledge. There is no limit for our quests, we are poking at every possibility! We even question about the nature of God! Even though rationally we know very well that he is beyond the scope of our imaginations. (In my view he exists in a different domain that our known energy and forces has no place in it. Because, the energy is evolving and God has to be beyond any evolution.) This intelligence has been cut loose and it is barking at everything! And that is what it has meant to be!

Our advanced intelligence, and possible similar intelligences like ours, is the only part of this Universe which it has the capacity to sense, to comprehend, and to appreciate the Glory of the Creator. God’s interactions with us is not because our advanced intelligence needs assistance to get formed or to get materialized, rather than our advanced intelligence would get disoriented and we might get very depressed if we do not find a genuine purpose for our existence.

Our love and our joy for idols and later on for the Invisible God not only have stimulated our imaginations, but they really were a source for our comfort, our happiness, and our satisfactions for our daily lives. Would we have functioned without them? Maybe to some extend we could have! But we wouldn’t know what our psyche might have been if we did not have these profound thoughts. For sure we should not under-estimate the enormous wisdom which our Intelligence possess for its functions, and if our Intelligence has invented to imagine a Creator, then there must have been some in-depth need for such invention, even if this invention had no merit in Realty!

Of course, our individual intelligence by its nature does not function the same way for everybody, but we do gain from each other’s point of views, no matter how opposites our views might be! Our intelligence is so diverse and our intellect is so complex that every one of us plays a different tune for keeping ourselves satisfied! And this diversity is another source for stimulating and satisfying our intellects. Our diverse interests for many angles of our being are truly a sense of wonder that transcends this very complex material world by many folds over. For comparison purposes, we can imagine this material world which is responsible for our upbringing is like the pieces of a “Chess” game with its simple instructions for the movements of the pieces, then, our thoughts and our intellects would be the very complex strategies which they have been developed by the Chess Masters throughout the ages. We can learn to play chess within an hour, but it takes years to master its strategies! So, our Intelligence by far is more interesting and more complex than all the complexities which we may find in the structure of this material world! Now, logically, if there is a Creator for this Universe and that Creator wants to interact with his enterprise, if ever he intends to do so, with what part of this Universe do you think he would interact? To me the most obvious answer is; with its Jewels. And that is where I will be looking for God’s interaction.

In search of a tangible evidence for existence of God​

Isn’t it fascinating with so many revealing discoveries in science, and exposing so many falsehoods in the theologies of the three Abrahamic religions, still these faulty theologies persist and still they satisfy some of the intellectual needs of their followers! Why!? Why proven mistake prone theologies still endure?

The believers of the three established Abrahamic faiths have vast and complex profiles. Each one of them has his/her especial reasons for being a believer. For my observation I split these believers into two groups; the well educated believers and the laymen believers. The layman believers do not use their intelligence that much! They usually would follow their charismatic leaders. Here my focus is only at the well educated believers of the three Abrahamic faiths. Amongst these well educated believers there are many professionals; like attorneys, judges, doctors, scientists, teachers, writers, artists, well informed clergies, business people, office workers, high level government workers, and so on. This group of believers because of their education they are well aware of the nature of a sound logic and the validity of our scientific findings. Their formal education has taught them to be aware of the falsehood of their belief systems, but despite of such very damning evidences they still continue with their beliefs. But, in a formal setting among their colleagues, their belief system is an embarrassing issue for their intellectual thoughts, since they have to cope with their irrational belief systems! However, that would not be a problem if their family and their colleagues support their belief systems. In USA there are certain advantages for being a devoted Christian! The candidates for US presidency they would not get elected if they are not Christian. And I assume this is true in many other countries. So, it is advantages even if they are not that keen about the established theology of their societies, but they need just to pretend that they are devoted in the prevalent belief system of their societies! However, for the educated believers who are in the minority, that is totally a different story! Their belief systems are a handicap and they have to endure the embarrassment of their belief systems and also they suffer from the under-current discrimination. And at the present time in USA, if they are Muslims such discrimination sometimes it reaches to the border of being hated and being harassed!

I have a friend, he is in his sixties and he has a PhD degree in chemistry from OklahomaUniversity. Like me he was borne in Iran, and now he is a US citizen. Unlike me, he is a devoted Muslim and he sincerely practices Islam; he prays three times a day, (Sunni Muslims pray five times a day, but Shiite Muslims have combined those prays and they pray three times a day.) he fasts one month a year, and so on. He has a peaceful mind and he advocates advancement and prosperity for all societies. His dad was an ambassador, and when he was a child he lived few years in Egypt, now he speaks Arabic fluently. So, when he reads Holy Koran he can see the deficiencies of the text first hand. (Islam emphasizes to practice Islam in Arabic. This is because Islam intended to create more unity in its flock! This is the reason why in most Islamic countries Muslims read Holy Koran in Arabic and as a result they do not understand its content!) My friend’s two siblings are not that keen about religion, so he does not get that much family relief from his brother and his sister. Actually, he has some problems with his two grown up daughters, who grew up in US and now they are living independently. The daughters are not practicing Islam. I have not talked to the daughters personally, but because they are distancing themselves from their parents I sense they are running away from their Iranian heritage and they do not want being labeled as Muslims! A sensible choice, under these adverse circumstances!

Me and my friend do not discuss religion because we do not want to disturb our friendship. Actually, I am open for any discussion but I know my friend would not be happy to be criticized for the content of his Islamic faith! Because, he knows very well the falsehood of his religion and he knows it would be an embarrassment if he wants to defend them openly! So, we avoid the religion subjects entirely. My friend’s profile is not that unique, another friend of mine has similar religious profile. Just in Iranian communities in USA there are many well educated Muslims with similar profiles. I am sure all over the world there are plenty of such educated believers who are in minority in their communities and they have more or less similar profiles, and they all behave in a similar irrational manner, which it is at least a hardship in their daily lives.

Now, the question arises why such educated believers with their personal knowledge of the falsehood of their faiths still they continue with their inconvenient belief systems despite of all these adversities? These educated believers intellectually have devoted themselves to their faiths which burden them to some extend, then, what is the reason that they keep following their faith? There has to be some good reasons for this irrational behavior. This burdensome and irrational behavior can not be rationalized from a well informed educated people who have very logical minds, unless there is some kind in-depth comfort and conformation from some source. For sure their childhood’s memories, when they were nurtured as a child by their loving parents in a religious setting, that could play a major factor for their present irrational behavior. But, since they have had formal educations, one would think, the need for consistency in their intellectual thoughts, they should have overcome the legacy of those warm religious experiences, and they should have abandoned the negative baggage which their faiths carry, and unload such burden from their life. But in realty that is not the case with this group of believers!

To compensate for the short-coming of a plausible explanation for the odd behaviors of these believers, I would suggest that the influence of God on these people is a possibility. I could be totally wrong in this assessment, but that is the assumption that for me it makes the most sense. I am indicating since the faith of these people are irrational, and their faith is pointing to the direction of God, then the influence of God on their thoughts could be realized.

Before we dismiss the existence of God, we need to explore the deep-seeded affect which such Void might have in our psyche. As we start to understand and to appreciate the benefits and the necessities of many seemingly harmful objects in the nature, the concept of gods or God in our thoughts could not be dismissed with such ignorance. I do not believe this deep-seeded thought was originated just by the ignorance of some primitive people. This belief was a theme which was manifested in all cultures. This point suggests it is possible that such idea might have been planted by the grace of the divine for helping our psyche. This is similar to the plot in 1977 movie “Close Encounter of the Third Kind”. In that movie Richard Dreyfus was trying to decipher the meaning of a puzzle which was planted in his mind.

After all, how did we become so wise to dismiss the personal experiences of many billions of the believers, just because their fanatic religious beliefs do not make any sense to our limited minds!? Of course, we would dismiss the believer’s personal experiences in their entirety, and without any hesitations, no matter how vast their numbers might be, only if we had irrefutable evidences in their falsehood, similar to that which was presented by Galileo against the prevailing idea of his time. But, in the absence of such evidence against their personal experiences it is only prudent that we be more cautious and more observant of the mysterious force which is influencing our thoughts in our daily lives. It is totally incoherent to suggest that all these vast numbers of believers, they all have got an incurable mysterious mental disease, and ignore the fact that they are as intelligent as the non-believers! These educated believers they are acting so sensible in any other fields. Isn't this so odd that they behave so strangely when it comes to their faith!? This clearly shows that something is influencing their mind! A little humility is the sign of a wise mind!

You express the belief that there is a God and this is commendable. However, no details were provided as to whom you are talking about nor of his purpose for the earth nor mankind. Hindus worship millions of gods and goddesses. Islam recognizes one God, whom they call Allah, in accordance with their holy book, the Koran. The churches of Christendom have basically left God nameless. Evolutionary theory recognizes no god, but tries to persuade individuals to accept the idea that we are a product of chance, and accidental happening.

There are three questions that many contemplate and often without a reasonable and logical answer, one that is the truth - (1) Where did I come from ?, (2) Why am I here ?, and (3) Where am I going ?
