Kirk Cameron Film ~ FIREPROOF ~

Fireproof Part 1 English

A very clean movie, with a great message.

Kirk Cameron wanted to build a house in Riverton, Utah, about two years ago, just 20 blocks from where I live. I'm gonna drive by this address and see if a house was ever built on this lot.

This is the lot he was interested in, two years ago. 12516 South 1300 West, Riverton, Utah

I'll go put a Book of Mormon in his mailbox, if he actually did build a house and move there.

See this thread: http://www.religiousforums.com/foru...37-kirk-cameron-wants-move-riverton-utah.html

So I wanted to watch this and make fun of it--and trust me, I did, at quite a few parts. But except for those scenes where my eyes glazed over from all the god talk, this movie was HILARIOUS. The supporting people were so awesome. :biglaugh: Really funny writing. And I really do like Kirk Cameron as an actor. (repeat: as an actor). ;) Of course he can act so purely acting-wise, without regard to dialogue, he was excellent.

Thanks for posting! Thought I'd blast it to pieces but it was really funny and sweet at the end (sans the god stuff, but that's ok! I know it's a religious movie :D)

I didn't read your response until now, because I thought you were just going to tear it apart.

Glad you like it, I liked it too, I cried.

I rented it from Netfix and watched it last night, then I thought I'd check YouTube to see if anyone had posted it and to my surprise it was there. Guess Kirk doesn't mind it being watched for free, he's like a gazillionaire anyway, he doesn't need the money.

He's so LDS, he just doesn't know it yet.

This was over 20 years ago in Utah.

Done here.
I'm curious about why you posted this in the LDS DIR. Do you think Kirk Cameron's kind of Evangelical Christianity is of particular interest to Mormons?

are you meaning that Cameron would in some way be in agreement with the teachings of LDS, but he doesn't know it yet? how so?

zomg

I aim to misbehave!

I ask this question about 3/4 of the things he posts here...

Lighten up, it's just a movie, I'm LDS, I like posting things I'm interested in, in the LDS section, even if no one cares.

The LDS section is supposed to be the ‘LDS section’ for the LDS members of the forum.

I’ll make you a deal. Post that in the general section and I’ll watch the movie and do a full critique? Deal?

I thought the acting sucked, but the movie was great. No matter what religion, if any, you follow.

This is a good LDS type movie, absolutely no swearing, absolutley nothing offensive in it whatsoever, you can't find movies like that, unless they're made by LDS members. As far as I'm concerned, Kirk Cameron is LDS, he just doesn't know it yet. He was interested in a lot just 20 blocks from where I live, which is really nothing but Mormon country, there's a Mormon church on every block here, even every half block, in many cases. So why would Kirk Cameron want to set up shop right in the middle of Mormonville, either he's interested in evangelizing us, or he's actually interested in the Mormon religion and our values.

He did a special 20 years ago, after he converted from atheism to Christianity, with Marie Osmond, who is LDS (Mormon), that says a lot to me right there, that he has great values and has great respect and admiration for Mormons and the LDS religion. He's a Christian, with GREAT values, which is VERY rare in this world.

This was over 20 years ago in Utah.

BTW I'm LDS and have been all my life, I don't adhere to any other religion.

She said, quote, "I believe everyone has the right to have civil rights"

She never said, "I believe in GAY MARRIAGE, I SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE".

Sigh, people read into it more than is there, she's not stupid, just loves her daughter, wants the best for her, Marie is not a GAY marriage supporter.

Show me a quote of hers that says she's voted for gay marriage, or CLEARLY supports gay marriage.

She loves and supports her daughter, as a loving mother should, that's it.

She said she believes "everyone has the right to civil rights," that's it.

Of course she isn’t. The concept that ‘equal rights’ would ever mean ‘equal rights’ is completely preposterous. I apologise profusely for making the mistaken assumption that when she said ‘equal rights’ she may have been referring to ‘equal rights’, when as you corrected me she was actually referring to ‘unequal rights’.

I will be sure in future to be careful not to make the same mistake in future in case I make the same confusion of ‘equal rights’ with ‘equal rights’.

Yeah, here we go again, so and so said such and such.

Post a YouTube clip where I can here that stated from her own mouth, then I'll believe it, otherwise it's nothing to me, what you say is nothing but hollow words.

Okay?

As I am unable to post links yet, the previous posters have linked the story in and have shown Marie Osmond's feelings on the subject. Do you treat everyone this way? By calling what they say, 'hollow words'? :areyoucra
