Greetings
Welcome to RF! I'm glad you are interested in the beliefs of others.
By the way, you said you are a 'former evangelical christian'. What would you refer to yourself as now and what is the reason for the change?
GhK.
hello GhK,
I do not know what i am now...I would go with theist/humanist, borderlining on agnosticism. I would say the political activism of christianity was a big turn off for me, as well as the exclusitivity. I was taught that atheists, homosexuals, and people of any other religion/cult...were against God...but I have had most nearly every preconceived thought formerly held, ripped out from under me by reality. I have come to know and love atheists, homosexuals, Hindu's (hello Bmd..
) , Mormons,
Baha'i, Wiccans, Buddhists, and many more who have shown me that the "fruit of the spirit" Love especially, is not exclusive to christianity.
this has been a long hard lesson, but I am thankful for all who have been a part of the journey.
with love,
soms
