I took a poll yesterday, and Obama was WAY ahead. And everyone I asked said they were likely to vote.

It seems that Barrack's speech about being a world citizen did not play well back in the states as it did in Berlin. His trip was suppose to rally support but failed miserably.

Why do you suppose people react negatively to the idea of the U.S. reaching out to and working with the rest of the world and improving relations? Wouldn't that be in our best interest? I reckon it's that jingoistic arrogance we keep shooting ourselves in the foot with.

Actually, I was pleased to see a representative from the U.S. being so well received. It's been a long time since we've seen that. I'm tired of having to be ashamed among the rest of the world, of our ludicrous political leaders.

Indeed. The last 8 years have been rather embarrassing.

Not to be contentious but wasn't his approval ratings fairly high during his first few years?

yes and it will be the same for any president who's first duty is to America, you cant please everybody all the time you can only promise to, then when the Europeans see you don't see the world through the eyes of a Frenchman or a German your popularity will plummet.

Have you checked the polls lately? It takes a while for them to do polls you know. Seems he's a head nine points.
