This is where I have had my nose stuck for the last few weeks. And why I haven't been on here as much. Has anyone else researched occultism and ceremonial magick? It is absolutely wild and fascinating. So...
I was checking out that whywiccanssuck website when I saw that one of the recommended readings was The Classics of Magic. I looked it up for kicks just to see what it was and low and behold there is a pdf. It was a combination of The Lesser and Greater Keys of Solomon, Occult Philosophies somethin er another, and The Hieroglyphic Monad. There might have been another. I'm about pass out so I'm being lazy. So then I started researching the Goetia. That was just like, whoa. Everyone has a different opinion about it, and I couldn't find any concrete historical information on the original daggum material in the British Library that the Mathers guy translated to make the Keys. Some people are like: "Oh its evil don't look at it!" Talking about how you can accidentally invoke a demon by thinking too much about them, then have spookables bouncing around your house wreaking havoc on you in your sleep and in your kitchen and such. Others are like, "Oh, spirits can't hurt you unless you believe they can." From somewhere there is the resonating: "Bull----!!" So I was like... hm. Interesting. :sarcastic
What is even more interesting is how friggen complicated some of the explanations and theories become. If these people are crazy, some of them are crazy geniuses, which in a way might be worse than just being crazy.
Has anyone else ever researched or studied this? No one worry. I won't be casting any circles and playing with spookables. But holy hell, talk about stuff that will hold your attention. Wow.
I will make sure to keep ya'll posted if I do see any demonic spookable activity in my house.
Oh, and has anyone here read the Golden Dawn? I have never seen it mentioned here. That looks like an interesting read.
