The LDS Church is always extending a hand of friendship to other religions. In the Spanish Fork, Utah, area, the Church donated money towards a chapel for the Baha'i people (not sure of the religion, but something similar). So I'm not surprised to see friendliness towards the Muslims.
I don't see any reason to read anything suspicious or negative into it. Friendliness is a good thing.
good for the LDS but have you ever heard of the Saudis or anyone elsefor that matterfrom the islamic world donating for a christian church, in fact chrisianity is banned in saudi, in Islam you are a heretic and under sharia you could face death, so the suspician as far as i am concerned is from any muslim who sees a similarity in an LDS minister and an imam is lying, your faiths are inconsolable, diametrically opposite nothing in common except the claim that your faith decends from Abraham, and make no mistake theirs stops at muhamed
