Do you agree or disagree with her position concerning women's roles in the church and in the home ???

Mothers Who Know

ASL (video) This takes forever to load up even with high speed, be patient, I haven't waited to see how long it takes.

Doctrine and Covenants 83: 2
Women have claim on their husbands for their maintenance, until their husbands are taken; and if they are not found transgressors they shall have fellowship in the church.

considering the recent support from all of the General authorities in the church toward's sister beck's talk (even indirectly). There is nothing LDS members should have to complain about.

Just listened to her talk again, in case I overlooked something that I may object to or that others would see as objectionable.

The spirit came over me, and I got emotional, at the point in which she paused and became emotional as well.

The spirit testified to me that what she has said is true and correct and what the Lord would say to us all if he were here. She is a true representative of the Lord Jesus Christ, no doubt about that whatsoever.

I saw nothing wrong with her talk, my mother did the same in our home by exemplifying her position and role as mother in the home

"There is eternal influence and power in motherhood" ~ Julie Beck ~

It's about creating warriors verse whimps.

Alma 56: 48
And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt ourmothers knew it.

These were women "in the know".

Yet they do, and either we are in the minority, by supporting the church on this one, or the church members are divided 50/50. It's hard to tell, but I know it's a large number that openly or secretly disagree with Beck and the church on this issue, because so many have spoken out openly against my wife not working, because she doesn't have children.

This debate reminds me so much of the parable of the "Ten Virgins" (they were divided 50/50, five were let into the bridegroom's home for the wedding feast, five were not) and the parable of the "Wheat and the Tares".

Christ loves us all, but who will be ready when he calls us to his wedding feast ???

"Who's on the Lord's side"

I hope and pray I am and will be ready when he "appears".

We all need improvement...better we improve ourselves now than after he comes.

No one's reducing womanhood to cooking and cleaning, but rather exalting them to the sacred role of raising righteous kids and as equal partners in decision making with their husbands.

If you're going to knock cooking and cleaning well then knock me down as hard as you can becaue that's ALL I've done for the last 20 years in the restaurant and take out pizza biz.

I've done enough dishes to put most people in this business to shame, let alone any housewife.

I found satisfaction in doing things others were not willing to do. I'm the manager here and I don't make ANY of my employees do ANY cleaning or ANY dishes, I DO IT MYSELF...

There's nothing shameful in doing dishes and laundry, I do that myself, at home too, but with the advent of dishwashers and washing machines, who's really doing dishes or laundry anyway ??? The pioneers are probably cringing right now seeing how we act and complain in the modern world, WE HAVE IT GOOD.

I do them by hand here at work, since the owners chose not to buy a commercial dishwasher, which they charge per month to operate and is extremely costly.

We need warriors not whimpy kids.

I grind my own wheat and make my own meals at work, my wife doesn't need to worry about that and I do my own laundry unless she insists on doing it before I get to it and we really don't have any dishes since I usually just make something at work and eat it each day.

My wife has it good, she has money and boat loads of free time, how could any woman complain about that. The Lord has blessed her for obeying this principle, which she has a right to do, and is all too eager to obey and be righteous. I don't need to ask her to do ANYTHING, she is all too eager to do what the Lord wants her to do.

My wife is much more righteous than myself in many ways. We all have our strengths and weaknesses.

"All have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

Even after our best efforts.

Can you honestly say, though that, "I support the leaders of the church," when you and others on this forum clearly are in opposition to this teaching ???

Is Julie Beck less of a leader of the LDS church because she's a woman ??

Of course not, she's acting under the direct leadership of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve, who are acting under the direct leadership of Christ, who acts under the direct leadership of the Father of us all, so by opposing her views you're opposing the First Presidency's and the Quorum of the Twelve's leadership and opposing Christ and our Father in Heaven.

I wouldn't want to take that risk, I already have enough other stuff I personally need to work on before Christ comes.
