Well, did he ???

How can atheists believe this was just the result of some random set of events ???

All of creation testifies there is a God.

Alma 30:40
But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of all these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator.

46 chromosomes
several hairdressers
several make up artists
a photographer
a computer graphics engineer
several advertising agency employees
probably a focus group
some research by psychologists
a fashion designer
some garment workers
probably a personal trainer and a dietitian
her agent
etc.

And of course YOU gave it significance and posted it here . . . . :D

I flashed on the image of Rodin's sculptures: A caryatid fallen beneath her stone" and " She Who Was the Helmet-Maker's Beautiful Wife". God made them too, and once they were beautiful and full of life. So God makes the sweet and the bittersweet both.

Scott

Fair enough, but...

I've worked with, dated, been friends/associated with girls with faces nearly as beautiful and/or as beautiful as the opening post photo, so they definitely do exist, so that said, did God create this or was it just a set of random events ???

God, or the devil.:)

Slightly more serious than my last post, it is not all random events, this is where you go wrong in your argument.

I don't claim to know how the universe was created, or how life started, but evolution (which is your area of questioning) says that offspring will occasionally have random mutations. This mutation part is the random bit. If this mutation is beneficial, then this offspring will be more likely to gain food, mate, and have offspring, who will receive his genes, including this mutation. I must stress that after the mutation occurs, this process is not random. Sure, there is the potential that this better animal could gain a disease, or some other factor outside of it's control. However, because of it's beneficial mutation, it has an advantage over it's counterparts in at least one regard. Because the animal passes on it's genes, with the new mutation, then the offspring is more likely to succeed, and eventually, through many generations, this new factor will be a part of the entire species.

In this particular regard, I do not think there are any factors about this woman that will allow her to have more offspring than any other woman. This sounds silly initially - wouldn't being more attractive make it easier for her to find a partner? However, consider all of the effort that she would have went to to gain this figure (paying makeup artists, photographers, and computer photo editors included). Would she throw all of this effort away, and potentially ruin her figure, not to mention her modelling career, for the sake of having children?

The reason why you have selected this person is because you, and many others, consider her beautiful. Should the woman you put up look unattractive, would this disprove the idea of God?

It's not random, FFH. It's a combination of a natural genetic makeup and environmental conditioning. In other words, everything Dopp listed and Nanda demonstrated with her link. I'm also disgusted that you would use society's definition of "beauty" to push the existance of God. So what are ugly people? Evidence of the Fall?

I know it was a risk, yet it speaks to those who think God an idiot or non existant.

Some need reminders of his awesome power to create.

I've literally seen two human spirits, one was a demon (male) and the other was a resurrected exalted being (female), they both had perfect beautiful faces, yet one exuded evil, the other perfect love, both images came and went in a fraction of a second.

We will all gain perfect flawless bodies either in the first resurrection or the second resurrection, this is a free gift to all because of Christ's sacrifice.

No need to worry about our flawed imperfect bodies in this life, we will all get new perfect ones eventually, ALL OF US.

I've seen what a perfect human spirit and resurrected face looks like, it's better looking than the opening post, but not by very much, that's a near perfect face, by (edited: spirit world) standards I would say.

Nothing wrong with appreciating good art, God's art found in his creations. God is in all creation, flawed human bodies are only temporary, we can live with that, because it's not eternal, what's inside is eternal, our current human form is not eternal, only temporarily flawed because of the fall of Adam and Eve..

Just another gentle reminder of God's creative artistic powers.

If you say this isn't real, well then you've never been around beautiful people before. Most are struggling just the same with their lives. I've work and associated with plenty of different people of all sizes, shapes and colors. Most are beautiful if you treat them as beautiful, they work at becoming or being beautiful, inside and out. I've seen plenty of people transform their lives for the better, physically and spiritually.

One girl I knew, they called her "angel," was completley flawless to begin with, yet she had very serious issues/problems/sins, or so her closest friends would say. She eventually started going back to church, I was shocked when I heard it was an LDS church. She changed her life completely. You never know what's going on inside a human spirit. Don't judge them by their appearance, there's a perfect human spirit inside each individual, the outside may be perfect or flawed, it makes no difference.

So God's standards are that of current Western culture?

There are perfect faces in all cultures, not just in the Americas, you may have misunderstood me. All I was saying is that I've seen a male and female human spirit in their perfect form, for just a fraction of a second and am comparing what I saw to what I see in the physical mortal world. I didn't mean to say "God's standards". I should have said, "according to what I've seen in the spirit". The face in the opening post is similar to human female spirit in it's perfect form.

I work with a girl who is half Japanese and half American, she has a perfect face and she doesn't even realizes it, according to what I've seen in the spirit. When you mix these two cultures the result is a near perfect face, much of the time, for whatever reason.

People stare at her all the time and she doesn't even notice, she sees only her flaws, which she really has none, she's adorable.

We all see flaws and forget to look for the beauty that God has created in all people and things.

Just pointing out some of the beauty I see that God has created and then like to compare it to what I've seen in the spirit.

So much of our society is so sexually twisted we forget that it's okay to look at and appreciate beauty, even if we don't possess that same kind of beauty.

When we react with jealousy, we are coveting. Why not just appreciate beauty when we see it and give credit to God for creating beauty where ever we see it, rather than reacting in anger.

Your children will have eating disorders due to psychological trauma.
You don't know me.

A kid walked into the take out pizza place where I work today, she was adorable, 3 years old with the longest curly hair I've ever seen on a kid that young. I don't think the father appreciated his own daughter or saw how adorable she was. I mentioned how darling she was and he acted a bit surprised that I had even said anything. The kid kept smiling and staring at me, it melted my heart to no end. I forgot how much I loved having kids around. We had a daycare for a while.

One kid that was entrusted to our care came to us, very young, just under two years old and very sickly looking. After about 6 months in our care the kid completely changed, both physically and emotionally. I could not believe the change in this kid. I wish I had had before and after shots. He was the most adorable kid and so fun to be around. I got so attached to this kid it was hard to see him go. I've had several other similar incidences with kids under about 4 or 5 years of age.

I also taught primary for a while and loved to watch kids blossom in my class. One girl her name was Emmy, she was so shy and was teased and burst out into tears one day. She was so cute and sweet. I helped her come out of herself and become the best that she could be. I do this with all kids I meet and the teenagers I work with.

I see changes all the time, with those who are willing to change. Their countenances change dramatically, when they finally open up and accept their particular strong points and aspects.
