Ha ha. My husband (then boyfriend) and I were together since seventeen...just four years older than penguino. Of course we got married a long while after....nine years after. :D
Gee, that's very young.....wonderful! My sister has been with her husband since she was 16 and both of them are now 37. Some people are fortunate enough to find good love early.

What I meant in response to Penguino was in ten years (hopefully sooner) he will realize that personality is more important in the end. :)

Personality is everything. I don't care how someone looks as long as we get along well and he meets my moral standards. And he has to make me laugh. Looks are a bonus, since the pressure in high school is crazy and everyones disses you if you date someone whose not the hottest guy ever. But I haven't let that affect me yet, so maybe it won't ever. I hope so. I would feel like a bad person if I dated someone based only on their looks.

That's sweet. :) My husband and I have been together since he was 15 and I was 16. Of course, we didn't get married until about 6 years ago.

It's so difficult for me to imagine being smart enough to recognize someone wonderful when I was that young. I honestly attribute that stupidity to not having a dad around when I grew up...I was a sucker for any attention from men up until my late 20's at least. Pretty pathetic really.

My sister has a different dad than me and he was/has been in her life all along....not sure how much of a difference that makes but she and her love are very well matched for each other.

It wasn't that difficult. Not too many guys can put up with a woman as acerbic and domineering as me and still come out smiling - he thinks it's "cute." He's infuratingly sweet and optimistic, that man. ;)

Personality.

"Looks" are for lust...

...the remainder are for life...

[Not that there's anything wrong with lust...mind you].

Personality/character are the most important things to me, ultimately.

Certainly looks matter, and there has to be physical attraction, but looks are just the icing on the cake, not the stuff that holds the relationship together. The most beautiful man I've ever known was not beautiful to me because of his looks....he was beautiful because of his character and personality. Initially, I wasn't physically attracted to him at all.

On the flip side, I've been with some very good-looking men....who all turned out to be jerks. :banghead3

both to be honest. i won't date people who i am not physically attracted to, and i will not date people who have no personality or low intellect.
