    The fool has said

    Psalms 14:1 Compare Job 30:8

People have claimed and are claiming that Psalm 14:1 is about atheists. But what if it isn't?

It has occurred to be, a former Jehovah's Witness, that according to the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witness there is no Jehovah for me if I do not go back to them. Whenever anyone leaves the Christain Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses it is said by the JWs that we have left Jehovah.

Might Psalm 14:1 be about the belief that God is only for some people, and not...

    Your view of heaven

Heaven, for lack of a better universal word, is whatever you believe the a positive afterlife would be.

i.e. Nichiren Buddhists, we believe in rebirth. Perfect wisdom of causality. I also believe spirits exist after death. So, heaven would be my being an ancestor to help family. Heaven is on earth.

How do you view heaven if or when you reach it?
If you are meeting someone in heaven, how would you describe your future experience if you can imagine it?
What would it be like to achieve full...

    The "Like" Culture

    ^-^ Hello everyone!
So I havn't been on forums like this for 8 years and RF was the first and only one I joined recently so far.

I must say this "Like" culture is crazy. I never seen it like this before. Not sure if it's just the RF community or most everyone in forums these days hit that "Like" button most of the time. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, I just hope you guys really do like what I have to say before hitting that "Like" button is all.

I'm learning to hit that "Like"...

    The trinity?????

If you are a trinitarian I have a question for you.
We know that God knows all things, is all powerful, and is eternal.

I also know that all 3 persons of the trinity are fully god meaning they all have these attributes that make them fully god.
according to matthew 24:36 "only the father knows the day and the hour"
I can understand jesus had 2 natures, but if the holy spirit is god, why does he not know the day or the hour if he did not take on flesh?

    Prayers from Your Religion

Today a friend urged me to try doing the Islamic prayers "with an open mind and heart" to see how I will feel. I tentatively agreed.

If someone managed to convince me to do Islamic prayers and play the role of a Muslim while doing so, I'm pretty sure I can give prayers from other religions a shot.

So, post prayers from your religion that don't require going to a house of worship or being in a group. Please note that asking other members to do or say those prayers is against the forum...

LDS members: why the "lawyers and notaries"?

In a recent story about Mormons leaving the LDS Church in protest, there was something that made me curious:

With lawyers and notaries on hand, participants planned to sign letters of resignation and march around the temple before depositing some in a mailbox near the church office.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...mormons-quit-church-over-new-anti-gay-policy/

Why would "lawyers and notaries" be necessary to...

    For theists: Does God 'want'?

Why presume preternatural agency rather than preternatural catalyst?

One reason that many presume purpose and, therefore, intentionality is that they take their scripture as holy writ. For the purpose of this thread, let's assume otherwise. What I'd like to see here is an argument for purpose (and its motivation) that does not rely on scripture and/or anthropomorphic projection.

Those who don't believe in hell

How much you are sure that you're right ?
are you 100% sure that the hell fire doesn't exist and if yes then why ?

Did you think for awhile that the hell fire may exist ?

Will you feel regret if you found yourself in the hell fire afterlife or you won't care about it ?
