Was thinking about the Adam & Eve Story tonight and a few things occurred to me about that story that I hadn't noticed before. I noticed that the Lord still called to Adam after they had sinned, and He didn't cut them off and stop talking to them. It says that they both heard the voice of the Lord and they hid from Him, not the other way around. Did the Lord not already know what they had done? The Scriptures tell us that He had to have known because everything is naked before...
This is a subject I tried to bring up under my why all the gimmicks thread under non denominational churches and somewhere else havnt been able to get anyone to respond to.
But Huffington post has a paragraph on it under Why no one wants to go to church anymore called phony advertising.
The gimmick biker church and Nondenoms that accept folks who dress differently make a phony advertisements for themselves, they use the fact that theyre accepting of those people to make the phony claim...
I am very interested in what Islam says will happen right before christ coming. Or what are the signs that judgment is about to take place or real soon?
If you could put them in numbered form that would be great.
I am in a state of, "I don't know if I believe in God".
Do you feel it, so you believe? Do you have rational reasons for believing? Do you believe in all the stories in your books, if you have them, and why?
Do you ever doubt that God may exist? How often do you think about God?
IF you have a God or god-like/higher power concept, how do you define/conceptualize that?
For me, there is an unknowable Brahman-like energy that holds the universe together. I don't conceptualize that as a person, or any anthropomorphic thing. I don't think it has a personal interest in me or anyone, or any "divine plan". In fact, my belief in what I call God for lack of a better word wouldn't be called a belief in God at all by an Abrahamic adherent. How do you name the un-nameable? How...
Eden as the last garden tempted: This can be concluded by Cain wandering and finding a wife. After the watcher angels corrupted the other humans in their own gardens they were made to wander just as Adam thus their civilizations were cunstrude before "the fall of man", in which Cain sought shelter. As is told by him telling God that "they" would kill him in the wilderness, he received a mark on his forehead to elude death which usually such markings are to keep demons at bay not people. It...
Is YHVH Omnipotent? Omniscient? Omnipresent? Any one, or all of the above?
I do not believe so, as it makes no sense, in my opinion, for YHVH to have created man, knowing man would grieve him enough for him to cause the flood, then regret causing it, then promise not to cause it again.
So glad we have this forum where I could ask this.
I was raised religious, but came to realize in adolescence that other children are raised in other faiths / belief systems , and the fact that I was handed down my tradition doesn't automatically mean it's true.
So I want to know which religion / belief system / world-view is true, if any. My natural instinct is to look into the various belief systems in the world. But Wikipedia tells me there are more than 4,000 religions in...
