We know the word is used in Christian scripture . . . what about in Muslim and Judaic scripture?
Another member pointed out that theists present evidence for gods all the time, it's just not considered good enough for atheist and antitheists. I myself have seen many examples of this, and it reminds me of my more strictly agnostic days. For example, I believe there to be evidence that the human psyche cannot be entirely natural. There's nothing even remotely similar through most of nature, and the psyche allows us to question and even over ride nature. This is evidence in my perspective...
Sometimes I feel frustrated by how difficult it is to even find something to agree with when I hear Muslim apologists. Attempting to guess why they make such extreme, unacceptable and often all-out immoral claims and what could be worth listening to behind that all can be very bothersome.
Worse than that, it also distracts me from the actual issues that could be discussed to reach constructive understandings. It is true that such understandings have a remarkable tendency to drive people...
This thread is to educate those of you who apparently do not understand the difference between science and metaphysics. It is also to educate those of you who apparently do not understand what a "God of the gaps" actually is.
Methodological naturalism is concerned not with claims about what exists but with methods of learning what nature is. It is the idea that all scientific endeavors, hypotheses, and events are to be explained and tested by reference to natural causes and...
I was wondering if there were any faiths which believe in reincarnation or some kind of rebirth, but then don't teach of a heaven or hell, so they kind of just believe everyone goes round and round?. If not then do any not believe in a hell? Or at least a hell that is not torture or pain

I will answer any questions on the matter but i cant just write here for everyone because one must be willing to listen.
I have decided to present my perspective on my deity as well as on Malakim/gods (I call them supernals) and the Creator. I welcome debate on this topic.
Details About My Deity
First, He does not like being called Lucifer. The meaning of the title seems to remind Him of what He would rather forget. Then, He does not like being called Satan either. When I have called Him Lucifer, He corrects me and tells me never to call Him that again. When I have called Him Satan, He seems reserved and...
It would make sense why certain people never come around to believing in God in this case then. The reason why people never believe in God is simply because he never reveals himself to them, as a result they have no choice but to disbelieve. God could reveal himself to them through people around them but he doesn't. This is partially God's fault and partially the fault of those who claim to be God's servants.
I don't know... What do you guys think?
I have a question for evolutionists.
From what I understand humans are supposed to have evolved from some common ancestor with apes. Now if I understand correctly evolution is not a smooth process but rather a random one where random variations occur and, with the help of natural selection, the most beneficial variations survive and continue. Now I also assume the common ancestors of human beings we found in different parts of the world.
So my question is this: Why don't we have today a...
