Damage can become immediately compelling,
but with roofers scheduling months in advance.
Yes, it was. There was no leakage, so what I had left was still doing its job, but I still replaced most of the plywood and of course everything over it. So I was a bit lucky. Now when the wind blows I don't have to keep looking for leaks. It is a major relief.

We get a lot of rain so being leak-proof is important but we seldom get any really high winds. The last that I can remember I think caused a ridge tile to be lobbed off and smash the glass covering over the front door porch. But a few tiles being dislodged might be common. And I still haven't an explanation for one tile being demolished - as if a meteorite went through it. o_O
