Vent poem

Pronouns: he/him/they/them
In the place where past fear and love meet
To war in the present
Everything so blurry
Where is kindness
To ones self?
When everything comes crashing
Cracks in the surface of darkness
Memory so vivid
Engulfing suffocating
Chains that bind your throat
Leave you gasping for breath.
Tempting to self destruct
But know youve been healing
So you cope the best you can
So far you came
Don't want to disappoint
Don't want to fall
Think you worthless
Life is nothing but pain
Know you wrong but your mind won't let it go
Warring mind
Self confidence you briefly know it's been there
You see how far you came
You know your issues too well
But they suffocate and tighten their grip.
How to break free from crushing responsibility?
To try to do the best you can
When moments like this bring to surface
And you can't help but wish to drown.
Everything been fine everything's looking up
But so often pain from the past occurs
It's so easy to fall.
Yet pressures stops, your knowledge stops you....
Somehow i dont know if it's worse.

I walked among the stars unborn and free
Woke up in a pool surrounded by she
They sent me to school to learn all I could
I learned about human nature and the price of being good
They told to me to work hard and always pay my dues
I worked for a company where compassion and ethics were yesterdays news
They tell me the world is the way it is
They told me it was the price we pay
Now I look back up the sky, and I know someday one day I'l be
walking among the stars unborn and free
