Holy Quran\Immersive Recitation with Love\Pronunciation\Revival\Affectionate Connections \Dervesh

DawudTalut

Peace be upon you.
Peace be on you….Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah V (may Allah be his Helper) said that few days ago someone showed him a small video in which an African Maulvi (clergy) was teaching adult students how to read Quran. For little errors, he was ill treating them by beating them with stick. If a person has different basic language and has reached age 17, 18 or more, how he can correctly pronounce each alphabets like Qari-s [learned reciters]. As the result, people shy away from reading Quran. That is the reason, many among Muslims [non Arabs] do not know how to read Quran. Thus Quran has to be taught such that interest and love is developed.

Few days ago, a Japanese lady, living in UK, who has made Bai'at few time came to meet Huzur (a.t.). She said that she has completed reading of Holy Quran in three years, by the grace of Allah the Exalted. She wanted to recite some part of it. Huzur (a.t.) permitted.

She recited Ayatul Kursi i.e.

[2:256]Allah — there is no God but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and All-Sustaining. Slumber seizes Him not, nor sleep. To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that will intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them; and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He pleases. His knowledge extends over the heavens and the earth; and the care of them burdens Him not; and He is the High, the Great.

with amazing immersion.

The real thing is there should be such love for Holy Quran, that it should be recited with immersion. The purpose is not to produce guttural sounds like Qari-s. Allah the Exalted has commanded to read Holy Quran with ‘Tarteel. It should be read with no haste, and with the best possible pronunciation.

Everyone cannot say words like Arabs. Non-Arabs cannot pronounce certain alphabets except that they are raised in Arabs. Japanese people cannot pronounce certain words. For example this visiting lady could not make difference between خ khe and ح hey. The way she said خ khey, ح hey was more surfaced up. Huzur (a.t.) felt after listening her pronunciation that if not all Japanese, many of them will have difficulty in pronouncing certain Arabic alphabets. Huzur (a.t.) said that the real thing is the love with words of God the Exalted. One should try to pronounce it best as much as one could, not to be to be a mere Qari [learned reciter], and to participate in competition for show off.

No Qari or Arab can compete with Companion Hazrat Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him); Allah the Exalted and Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) would see him with love when he would pronounce ‘AS-hado un la elaha’ instead of ‘aSH-hado un la elaha’ (I bear witness there is none worthy of worship except Allah) for Aazan [Call for Salaat: He was an African slave, he accepted Islam, his master would severely torture him in very hot sand for his faith change, but he remained steadfast.]

People from non-Muslims are accepting Islam and joining Jama'at. Majority of Muslims do not know how to read [simple Arabic reading] Holy Quran..In Africa, our Muballeygheen [plural of Muballigh: Learned Conveyer of Message] face many occasions when they have to teach reading of Holy Quran from start through Qaida [elementary book for learning how to read Arabic] --- [material is available in the right side of page @ https://www.alislam.org/quran/ ]

We have to teach Holy Quran to new comers. The teachers of Holy Quran recitation should teach in a way that an interest is developed in learner to read Holy Quran.

May Allah the Exalted grant reward to the Pakistani lady who not only taught reading of Holy Quran to Japanese lady but also apparently she developed love for Holy Quran in her.

Thus the real things is not a recitation like a Qari. It should not be thought that if some words are not pronounced or these are difficult, then Arabic reading of Quran should be left…..It is essential to read Holy Quran (Arabic), and pronunciation should be improved. Every Ahmadi should pay attention to recite Holy Quran daily. Try to pronounce as close as possible to the real pronunciation and make effort to improve it.

Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: To make effort that we must pronounce every word like a Qari, is not correct because God the Exalted has not given us the power to do so [for non Arab]. My marhuma (mercied upon: deceased) wife Umme Tahir narrated that her father liked very much to read and teach Quran. He had a teacher to teach Quran-reading for sons and daughter…..That teacher would beat us (the children) very much, he would put small branches of tree between our fingers and press the fingers, he would hit and hurt us (children). He would do so for why do we not utter right pronunciation. We Panjabi people has such pronunciation that we cannot utter proper pronunciation like Arabs.

Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) mentioned an event…An Arab came to see Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.). When Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) used ض (zuad) 2 or 3 times, the man said how you could be Promised Messiah, you cannot even pronounce ض. He did a very ill thing……Every country has its own accent. Arabs say they can perfectly ض , Hindustanis cannot pronounce it……Thus there is no room for objection.

Therefore, Arab Ahmadis should keep it in mind that. Generally, majority of them understand this issue. But some has sense of pride. A Pakistani lady who is married to an Arab, she thinks she pronounces correctly by producing sound from deep throat. In fact it is not correct….. If it was personal matter, it was all right, but it has come to the knowledge of Huzur (a.t.) that she mocks in certain gatherings that Pakistanis cannot pronounce certain alphabets and they do not know how to read Quran and they cannot utter Arabic words correctly. That Arab gathering make fun. Huzur (a.t.) said he did not think everyone form Arabs mock like that. It is possible specifically her in-laws do so……..Islam seeks to win hearts of every nation, and seeks not only introduce of Words of Allah the Exalted to them but Islam seeks to develop love in people’s heart so that they read it.

Everyone has their own distinct accent. Everyone tries to read Holy Quran in best possible way due to its love; and this love should be there. And surely one should keep the ‘tarteel’ [reading with proper pronunciation and proper pace] in mind. Those who know how to read Holy Quran with proper pronunciation they should help new-Muslims in reading it too. But mockery of others cannot be allowed. There are several nations, they have their own accent, each one cannot utter each Arabic alphabet with full articulation.

SOME MORE NARRATIVES BY HAZRAT MUSLEH MOUD (R.A)

He explains weak condition of Muslims with an example…..There was a coward but he imagined he was very brave. It was custom in old days that brave people would have inscribed tattoo on their arm in accordance to their character. This man went to tattoo maker for an image of lion. When the inscriber pierced a needle, it caused pain. This man asked him what he was making, inscriber said, ‘tail’. This man asked him if tail of a lion is cut, would it not still be a lion. Inscriber said that yes it would be still a lion. This man said, ‘fine leave the tail and make other parts’. The inscriber pierced the needle. This man asked what he was making now. Inscriber said, the right arm’. The man said if a lion lost its right arm in a fight would it not be lion yet? Inscriber said yes it would be. The man said, ‘then leave it too, and move on.’ Like this inscription of lion’s left arm was stopped, and then the leg. At last the inscriber sat down. The man who thought he was very brave, ‘why do not you keep working?’ The inscriber replied there was nothing left to do.

Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a) noted: Today it is what is being done with Islam. In particular, Muslim Ulama (scholars) and leaders are doing same. They shout lot of slogans but action is absent. The way they instruct others, it has nothing to do with teaching of Islam, they instruct to leave this, this and that. For themselves, they leave everything.

In this regard, Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a) mentions another example of a respected relative, in whose childhood, in mango season, when his family would gather for eating mangoes, the child would gather some mangoes on his side by declaring them ‘sour’ after a brief suck. At the end of session, he would say, oh well I am still hungry, now I eat ‘sour’ ones too. One day, his brother found the reality…….The same condition is of today’s those people who want to implement Shariah. They deceive and keep amassing things for themselves. They do it knowingly. What is state of those who do not know Shariah, they shall do more damage……..These days Ulama (so called fanatic scholars: though some are pious) are looting under the guise of excuses, and which is visible everywhere. It is great tragedy for Islam in this age. Due to these Ulama, others too are busy in looting. Due these Ulama, various organizations exist which are doing oppression. May Allah the Exalted have mercy on Muslims.

HOW WE CAN INCREASE IN FAITH BY CORRECTING OUR CONDITIONS, AND MAKE CONNECTION WITH GOD THE EXALTED.

He advised Jama'at: If you people develop Taqwa and purity in yourselves, and make habit of doing prayers and remembering Allah, and regularly continue to offer Tahajjud [till early-dawn extra Salaat] and Durud [to invoke salutation on Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him)], then surely Allah the Exalted will grant you part from true dreams and true-kushuf [visions in waking], and will honour (grant you) His Words and revelation. And live miracle in fact is the one which is manifested in own self. No doubt, the miracles of Hazrat Ibrahim (on whom be peace) are great, the miracles of Hazrat Musa (on whom be peace) are great, the miracles of Hazrat Esa (on whom be peace) are great, but as far as the own self of human is concerned, for him that miracle is great which he observes in his self.

People ask this question these days too. For this it is essential to develop connection with Allah the Exalted too -- if miracles are to be seen.

INCREASE IN FAITH, AND EXAMPLE OF PERSONAL SIGN

Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) mentioned about Hazrat Sahibzada Abdul Lateef Sahib Shaheed (r.a.) : See to Sahibzada Abdul Lateef Sahib Shaheed, when he accepted Ahmadiyyat, and after staying in Qadian for some times, he went back to Kabul, the governor of that place summoned him and asked to repent. He (r.a.) said how can I repent, when I started from Qadian, right at that time I saw in dream that I am hand cuffed. Thus, when God the Exalted had said you will have to be hand cuffed in this path, now how can I try to remove these hand cuffs? These hand cuffs should remain in my hands so that words of my Rab (Lord) is fulfilled. Look, he received such certainty because he had seen a dream……… Similarly, if someone even with very little knowledge, sees a dream (but if he hide it due to cowardice, that is different matter, otherwise) he trusts even his false dream more than that.

If faith of a person is strong, and he has connection with God the Exalted, then the person is not afraid of earthly people……..Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) provided example of it: Hazrat Sufi Ahmad Jan Sahib Ludhianvi was very great religious-noble and was among the virtuous people of his time. Once Maharajah Jammoon invited him to come to Jammoon and pray for him but he declined and said if he wanted to get prayer, he should come to him. [If one has connection with Allah the Exalted, he is not afraid of anyone, no matter of what worldly splendor]

Before the claim, people revered Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace), and after his claim, the situation changed. Keeping in mind the popularity of Brahin e Ahmadiyya, we can say thousands of people revered him. Testimony of one such is present who passed away before the claim of Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) i.e. Hazrat Sufi Ahmad Jan Sahib, which is just mentioned above…. Sufi Ahmad Jan Sahib wrote a verse before the claim of Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.):

We the sick people have hope in you

Please for God’s sake be the Messiah

It was far-seeing sight of a Wali-Ullah (friend of Allah), even before the claim of being Promised Messiah by Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.)……But those whose sight was not so far-reaching, we can say they too felt that survival of Islam was attached to him (a.s.). But great sincere ones went repelled when that (spiritual) weapon for the victory of Islam and for the defeat of opponent was given to him. He was given water which was destined for the life of Muslims. The repelled ones said alas whom we thought gold turned out to be bronze. Thousand thought ill about him….When Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) announced to get Bai'at, only 40 people did it on the first day……Earlier, great Ulama-s used to say the service of Islam could only be done by this person, they used to send people to visit him. Maolvi Sana-Ullah sahib wrote that he walked to see, in reverence, Mirza Sahib on the occasion of publishing of Baraheen. Maolvi Muhammad Hussain Batalvi (who latter spent all energies in doing opposition) wrote that no one had served Islam since 1300 years as this person had done………These days too, various so called Islamic TV channels speak abusive and say that he really served at time but latter went astray. Na’ uzobillah [we seek Allah’s refuge]……….Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah (a.t.) said these people are sightless at heart, as the one whom God the Exalted made gold (like), they think he is bronze. Instead of seeing the practical testimony of God the Exalted they have sunk in the darkness of their selves, and making the Muslims with less knowledge loose the way. May Allah the Exalted grant them wisdom.

Once in the Shura [advisory body to Khalifah] of 1931, Darul Bait was mentioned. Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) told the representatives that it [matter of Darul Bait Ludhiana] was very important matter near him. He (r.a.) said: Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) has mentioned it especially, he declared Ludhianah as ‘Bab e Lud’ [Gate of Lud], the place about which there is prophecy of killing of Dajjal [metaphor] i.e. where there will be end of foe – the Dajjal. Jama'at should have special feeling for the place, to where Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) went to get Bai'at from Qaadian. [In Qadian], when Hazrat Khalifah I (r.a.) requested him to get Bai'at , Huzur (a.s.) said that Bai'at will not be taken at Qadian, it will be at Ludhianah. Pir of there, Ahmad Jan Sahib Marhum -- [who died before the claim of Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) was among those people, who were enabled by God the Exalted to have faith on Hazrat Promised Messiah even before his claim.]—gathered his all family at time of his death, and told them Hazrat Mirza Sahib will make claim of Messihiyyat [to be Promised Messiah (a.s.)], you all should believe him. Thus all this family believed him. Pir Manzur Muhammad Sahib and Pir Iftikhar Ahmad Sahib are his sons, and wife of Hazrat Khalifah I (r.a.) is his daughter….I plan, a special map of this place should be made, and a separate place should be made at the place-of-Bai'at', and there should be marking. A Jalsa should be convened at this occasion. The name of all 40 people should be written here, from whom Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) got Bai'at. [Jama'at possesses that house and it is being made a memorial]

LUDHIANA AND PROPHECY ABOUT MUSLEH MOUD

Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) said: Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) saw a dream that a bunch of grapes of Paradise was brought before him and he was informed it was for Abu Jahal [one of greatest persecutor of early Muslims]. Its interpretation was that his son would get Paradise. It happened so…..It so happened that Allah the Exalted made Ikrimah, son of Abu Jahal so virtuous that he presented splendid sacrifices for the sake of deen (the way, religion, i.e. Islam). [In that time in history, once] Muslim faced severe trouble at a war, Christian arrow shooters were aiming to the eyes of Muslims, Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) continued to get martyred. Ikrimah said he could not see it. He sought permission from his commander of force for attack, and with 60 braves he attacked on the heart of opponents’ army. It was so severe attack that their opponent commander was to escape for life, which caused haphazard running in his army. This group of 60 fought with such zeal that when Muslim army reached there, they found most of them had been either martyred or were severely injured. Hazrat Ikrimah (r.a.) was seriously injured too. An officer brought water to injureds, and tried to give it to Ikrimah first. Ikrimah saw Hazrat Sohail bin Umro is seeing to water. Ikrimah asked the officer to give the water to Sohail first then I shall drink: I cannot bear my brother is lying thirsty nearby and I drink it. The officer took water to Sohail, near him Haris bin Hash-sham was lying injured. Sohail said, Give the water to Haris first. When officer reached to Haris, he had died, then he came back to Sohail, he had passed away too, when he reached Ikrimah his soul had departed too…..This, Ikrimah was the son of Abu Jahal.

Thus if someone is mischievous, faithless and liar, then who can say that his son will be surely like him? But there are testimonies in the Words of God the Exalted which manifest its truth. If there is no testimony, it is not acceptable.

The base is that how prophecies are fulfilled. When Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) saw the dream, he was worried how it would be possible that Abu Jahal would be in Paradise getting bunch of grapes from him (s.a.w.)…..Its interpretation was that his son would become believer and would present extraordinary sacrifice for Islam.

Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) said: In this prophecy [prophecy about Musleh Mo'ud] of Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.), like other prophecies, many testimonies are present. He prophesied in such a time when even people in Qadian did not know him, many old people of Qadian has said they did not know him: we thought Ghulam Murtaza Sahib had only one son i.e. Mirza Ghulam Qadir. Such a person who was unknown and people of his village did not know him, he prophesied that Allah the Exalted would grant him children which would remain alive, and there would a son among his sons who would be famous to the ends of the world and his Message would reach to the ends of the world through this son. Who can say such thing from his self?....[The prophecy said] That son would turn 3 into 4. It meant, he would be born in 4th year of the prophecy. Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) said the Prophecy in 1886. Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) was born in 12 January 1889 and Hazrat Promised Messiah got first Bai'at on 23 March 1889 in Ludhiana. This prophecy of Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) is well known in our Jama'at and outside and usually it was asked, Who is that son?..

Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) said: In the prophecy, the name of that son was told Mahmood too, that is why Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) gave the name Mahmood to me as omen. And because the son was also called Basheer the Second in prophecy. That is why full name given to me was Bashir uddin Mahmood Ahmad. As far as the matter about having children and they remaining alive, this prophecy was fulfilled too. Hazrat Promised Messiah a.s. was enabled to give name Mahmood to a son. But the world was waiting, the prophecy was about which son? Thus I have come to Ludhaina to tell this. Jama'at Ahmadiyya has relation of many types with Ludhiana.

= Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) got first Bai'at in this city.

=After him, Hazrat Maulvi Noor ud Din Sahib became his first Khalifah, and

=he was married to daughter of Mushi Ahmad Jan Sahib in Ludhiana,

=and the son mentioned in this prophecy was born to that wife who had lived in Ludhiana.

=[Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) said] I remember, I lived for some time here in childhood….. I was so little that I do not remember anything special of that time; I was 2 or 2 and ½ years old. Only one event is remembered, the house in which we used to live, was at the edge of the road and it was a straight road. I came out of my house, a little boy was coming from the other side, he came near me and threw a dead house-lizard at me. I became so much terrified that I ran to house crying. I remember the location of that bazaar it was straight, though I do not know now which was it. Our house was at one end. I have spent several months of my childhood age here…….Thus this city has relation with Ahmadiyyat in various ways…..This city is very special. I was thinking that the matters which are announced by God the Exalted people oppose them surely. [After the announcement that Huzur was the Musleh Mo'ud, Jalsa-s were convened in Lahore and Gurdaspur (before Ludhiana) but no opposition was seen] Despite my announcement that this prophecy has been fulfilled in me, there was no opposition, [Huzur thought] why no one opposed, when we came to Ludhiana and I was passing through the city, the crowd of people was passing shouting (nauzubillah) ‘Mirza died, Mirza died.’…….Anyway, it does not affect us, they did mockery because they forgot the teaching of Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him). The prophecy of Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) was fulfilled with full magnificence…..Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) prayed: May Allah enable the people of Ludhiana to accept Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) and those who shout today in opposition, may they shout in favour tomorrow.

ABOUT THE LOVE AND CONNECTION OF COMPANIONS WITH PROMISED MESSIAH (A.S.)

Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) said: Mian Abdullah Sahib Sanori (r.a.) possessed such adoration. Once he came to Qadian, and met Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.). Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) was engaging him in some work. When absence of leave of Mian Abdullah Sahib finished, and he seeked permission from Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.), Huzur (a.s.) said, ‘Still stay’. Thus he sent application for more leave but the answer from department came that more leave cannot be given. He told the matter to Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.), he again said, ‘Still stay’. Thus he wrote that he could not come yet. Upon this people of (governmental) department dismissed him. Four or six month, the time, for which Hazrat Promised Messiah asked him to stay, he stayed here. When he went back, the department raised the question that the officer who dismissed him, did not have the right to dismiss him. Thus he was reinstalled at his post and also the salary for the months, he had spend in Qadian, was paid.

Another example: An event took place with Munshi Zaffar Ahmad Sahib………Munshi narrated: When I became sir-rishtah-dar (head clerck: mir-munshi) and worked in hearings. Once I closed the files and came to Qadian. On the third day, I seeked permission to return. Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said, ‘Still stay’. Then I thought it was not appropriate to ask again, he (a.s.) will say by himself. One month was passed. Files were in my house. Work stopped and harsh letters began to come. Here condition was such that I did not think about that, I forgot everything, and did not mind about letters. In the presence of Huzur, there was such gratification and fascination that there was no though of losing job and no fear of any questioning. Finally, a very harsh letter came from there. I presented that letter before Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace). He read and said, ‘Write! We are not coming yet’. I wrote this sentence. Then one more month passed. One day Huzur (a.s.) asked, ‘How many days have passed?’ Then Hazrat Promised Messiah (a.s.) counted by himself and said, ‘Well, you go’. I went and after reaching Kapur Thalla I went to the house of Magistrate Lala Harchand Das to know what was the decision about me [whether job was intact, or I was fine or fired]. When I went to his house, he said, ‘Munshi Jee, might not Mirza Sahib had allowed you to come’. I said, ‘yes’. Magistrate Sahib said, ‘His order is superior’. [According to another narration: Munshi Zaffar Ahmad Sahib (marhum) mentioned: When Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) said, ‘Write! we cannot come’, then I wrote and sent the same words to the Magistrate.]

Hazrat Musleh Mo'ud (r.a.) said: This was a group, which demonstrated such a high model of adoration that now our eyes cannot be lower before previous Jama'at-s. No matter how much weaknesses and negligences may be present in the people of our Jama'at. But if the Companion of Hazrat Musa present their model before us, we can present the model of this group before them. Similarly if the Companions of Hazrat Esa present their high achievement on the day of judgment, we can present our these Companions before them with pleasure. And what Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) said: I cannot say what is difference between my Ummah and Ummah of Mahdi…He actually said so due to such people. These were the people, who would present all kinds of sacrifices like Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a.), Hazrat Umer (r.a.), Hazrat Uthman (r.a.), Hazrat Ali (r.a.) and other Companions. They remained ready to bear all kind of difficulties in the path of God the Exalted………See to Hazrat Khalifah I (r.a.), since God Himself have granted him an elevated station in Jama'at, that is why I did not mention him, otherwise heroic deeds of his sacrifices are amazing. When he came to Qadian, his (medical) practice already existed in Bherah, clinic was open, work continued at very great level. When he requested permission from Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) to go back, he (a.s.) said, ‘What is going, you live at this place!’. Then Hazrat Khalifah I (r.a.) did not go to get his belongings, he sent someone else and brought his things from Bherah. These are the sacrifices which make the Jama'at’-s elevated in the Presence of God. And this the station, every person should struggle to achieve. Mere philosophical faith cannot be of any use to person. The faith useful for a person is the one which contain sweet and sour syrup of affection and love .

No matter a philosopher makes so many claim about his love, they are not worth more than presentation of logic, because he does not see truth with the eye of heart he sees it only with eyes of wisdom.

But the one who recognizes truth which comes from God and Sha’aairullah [sacred Signs of Allah], not by wisdom, but by the eyes of heart, no one can deceive him, because, from mind a hand of philosophy is raised and, from heart hand of love is raised.

May Allah enable us to recognize Imam of the era with the eyes of heart, and enable us to remain steadfast at it always. May we always recognize Sha’aairullah and never Satan may deceive us. Aameen

We all speak different languages, we talk in our own way, but the teachings of religion bring us together. If they pull us apart they are lies, we know this, in our hearts. Be careful listening to those who separate us, driving wedges between human families. They lie for reasons beyond their own, they are decieved, listen to your heart- love, compassion and life.
