I thought the country was the people, at very least of, by and for the people.

Of course the state will declare that the one who reveals their dirty secrets is a traitor, but, then again, we Americans do tend to idolize George Washington who was a traitor to the Crown but yet considered a hero to his people.

Considering the wake of corruption, lies, smoke and mirrors, backroom deals, and closed doors begs one to question on if it's the people themselves, or is it something far less inclusive now.
