Magickal Systems

I also use Setian greater black magic.

I may perhaps consider everything to be GBM in general within other systems of Magick, I do not exactly practice Setian GBM from Aquinos. But I practice more or less Egyptian Left Hand Path Magick and typhonian Magick on which I view it as GBM. I have always regretted on skipping certain important grasps on the Path on which I am in. I of course may learn from my mistakes in general, but In my own view I believe once when you find a system of Magick that works best to your advantages, you then belong to that system perhaps permanently.

I've been focusing on doing exactly this. As more of a creative person, the trappings, symbols, and pictures come easier than words for me, but I'm still intent on writing my own invokations and declarations. .

I enjoy visualization of various symbols, my favorite is perhaps visualizing the pentagram of Set and perhaps a symbol within which symbolizes isolation by Set. Words, and invocations for me comes with visualization when I would read and take a moment to think of it. I have trouble creating imagination of desires at times, but my mind is normally scrambled the way it is.

I think we may have the biggest online Setian population here, outside of ToS groups I assume.

looking around finding only years old posts, I think we are actual the only Setian online Population outside ToS ;)

It is Equal how you call the GBM , In the first view it is without a path it is a basic information of How and Why in the bigger view of all and nothing. The path is only defined by the details when you are using it.

I practice the Vampyric aspect of Necromancy; basically it is equivalent to a leech, but instead of blood, its their energy.

There's two parts to it though, I've only been able to do the basic part which is sap energy from people using my hands to focus the leech - if you can master that bit, then the advanced part shouldn't difficult, but unfortunately for me I've not mastered it.

The advanced part of it carries a lot more risk & rewards than the basic part; instead of drawing energy from people, you're suppose to extend your spirit partially from your body an use it to latch on to someone else's spirit (the person you're doing it to has to be living though), then you're to take part of their essence to enhance your own.
The Reward: If you chose the right kind of person, your physical & spiritual parts of you will become much stronger, in order to gain more you'll have to find someone who is stronger than the one you just leeched from.
The Risk: If you choose the wrong kind of person, you'll make yourself weaker in both physical & spiritual senses. Also, if you sap too much, you can inadvertently cause that person to die and the part you took will become a never-ending reminder of what you've done.

If you can do the advanced part of Vampyric Necromancy with no real screw ups, you could feasibly make yourself live longer.
There are other Aspects, and even this is considered one the harder aspects, I just can't see myself doing a different one.

How is that necromancy though? No dead people are involved in the process you described.

Raising the dead & controlling them is a myth.

Necro means Death.
Mancer is basically like a Weaver.

Necromancy is primarily involved with Death itself, but that is just the base, there are differing aspects that can be learned.

I suspect Mandi asked because necromancy is a type of divination involving consulting the dead. The suffix "mancy" comes from term that specifically refers to divination, hence "necro" (dead) + "mancy" is divination using the dead, "tasseo" (tea) + "mancy" is divination with tea leaves, etc.

Other usages come from either contemporary fantasy or are otherwise modern, so I'm not sure where you are getting yours from, @Gyrannon. Is this something you created for your own personal tradition?

No, I merely came across it after learning about "Art of Thanatos".
The Aspects I'm aware of are: Vampyric, Eidolonic, Transcarnate, and Thanatoic, searching for either on the net should you bring to the others that I mentioned.
