I think those kind of experiences are great, because they are personal. The fact that they are personal really make them deep and meaningful to you, and you have the choice to ignore it or answer it. There is nothing to "prove" to anybody or to really "believe". Your own experience of things is the real journey, in the end.

This is a good perspective. I like

Why don't you like Paan? :)

I'm also curious how it was :). I wanted to try paan while in Malaysia, but I lazily never got around to finding it.

I found this picture which has a lot of Hindu deities in it. Could you please tell me as much as possible you know about it (or what scripture tells about it).

Here are some things I've figured out myself (not by reading scripture but by combining the image/symbols combined with my visions) but I'm very curious about the 'original' (or your) explanations.

- Brahma has a 'human' color because he(/she) is the 'highest' deity and 'his godlikeness can only be seen in or by humans'. He is what christians would call 'Father'. On his right hand (seen from our perspective) he holds the 'Book' which is being read right now (which is the entire existence from beginning to ending of our present Universe). His Right-middle hand holds 'all the books bind together being in balance' - everything that ever was and will be is 'in' there. With his left front hand he shows the 'stop'-sign, which means he is worthy to be a deity since he knows when to 'stop' (the things from his left hand to his right hand and or vice versa) something that has ever been created (the book being read now much have an end and go into his right-middle hand >like the 'End-time' for Christians. His left hand - unseen for all the others - holds the 'jewel' or 'gift' > everything that has been and can't return back (socalled 'lost worlds' or 'mythological kingdoms') into the 'book presently being read' immediately, like for example, if you believe they have existed 'Giants', 'Olympus' or 'Atlantis'.

- Vishnu is the 'first' or 'highest' in rank after Brahma, she still has to 'learn' some things to become 'Brahma'. She can be compared with what pagans call 'Mother'. Her left hand shows she can already 'control an entire Universe' or 'space'. Her right hand shows she can create life (from water inside the shell <> God blows life into 'beings') but still has to succeed the test in 'stopping' (some of?) the life she created. In her right-middle hand she holds the 'magic-wand'.

- Shiva has 'humankind' on top of his head instead of a crown like the other two so Shiva has to show he is able to 'guide humankind' before he will get his crown to become a 'full' deity. He controls all 'sounds' made in this universe as depicted symbolically by the 'drum' in his hand. Symbolically he is 'the Son' being Jesus and the Devil combined since the 'living humans' are on top of his head and the 'dead humans' are in 'his hair-ending in the snake'.

Brahma is fair/white (perhaps a bit of Aryan heritage here, Prajapati in the Vedas). But it does not mean much. The books in his hand are the Vedas. Vedas predate Brahma and are supposed to be eternal. Among Vaishnavas, Brahma is considered the creator God as well as the writer of fate. The right hand does not mean stop, it means protection (abhaya).
Post incomplete, a break, if you please.

"Have any deities ever "visited" you.

Yes, it happened 3 times. The first was the one that lead me to Hinduism. I keep precious memories of those moments, they are very special and moving for me. They are the pillars of my faith to me."

What level of power do you feel the deities have?

I believe I am associated with some higher spirits. I call them ancients instead of deities.
But deity is quite the word. I've seen people use that word all kinds of ways.

Compared to a human they could seem quite powerful and high ranking.

"crazy cat lady" because you're extremely fond of cats? why exactly?
do you own many? how many?

Vanakkam,

I am extremely fond of cats ! I have no idea why, tho. Even in the streets I'll immediately spot a cat or a hiding cat, and proceed to stop whatever I was doing to pet the cat.
Yes, that's strange

I have no pet cat at home tho...
