Hello Everybody

Hello, I was raised Christian in many different types of churches growing up, and I never felt at place in any of them. The Southern Baptist church was the only one I agreed to be baptized in so I guess that's the type of belief I'm most familiar with. I grew up in Texas and still live there, and this is the belief of most of the people where I live.

I tried to live a good Christian life for my first twenty years of life, but sometime around the age of 23 I started to question this religion. After many years of soulsearching and studying the Bible, I eventually realized that I no longer believed in the god described in the Bible. But I am still doubting everything and trying to find the truth so I don't hold anger towards people who believe in the Bible. I am just here to have reasonable discussions with people who I might not agree with to understand how other people think.

Good on you, you are thinking for yourself, that is some thing that most religious thinking people don't do.

Good on you. You're comfortable enough with yourself to leave your religion without feeling the hate that others often feel upon their departure.

Welcome aboard :D

I think some confuse doubting with disliking. It is okay to dislike things in certain law systems but still follow what they basically stand for. I'm Muslim and there are some points in Islam that annoy me, but I believe in the bigger picture of Islam so I follow it and have faith in it because that main bigger picture makes sense to me.

If by any chance you don't follow a certain belief system because of some points it has, try to look at the bigger picture, what that belief system mainly stands for.

Bless you :)
