[Christians only] I am offended

I am horrified what the GOP did with my religion! Turning into it a fascistic bullying monstrosity! To me it is all about love and forgiveness. I don't mind if you support traditional marriage but calling people derogatory names crosses the line. Using the faith to justify war and greed disgusts me even more.

I am offended!

Bear something in mind. The GOP courted the right-wing conservatives in the 1980s promising these Christians what they wanted which was their agenda to bring their version of Christianity into political power. I recall all too well the Pat Robertsons, Jerry Falwell's, and James Dobsons out there with their war on culture. Is it the GOP that made the right-wing Conservative Christians, or the other way around?

I say that what you see in the GOP is the direct result of these Christian right-wingers and their war on culture. If you start with exclusivist views in religion that seek political power over others, you will end up with what you have today. Back when I was a Bible College student in the midst of that, the Bible verse "By their fruits you shall know them" kept resounding in my head as I listened to their rhetoric. Indeed. This is their legacy. This is their offspring. This is their fruit.

You are wrong in believing Christianity is about forgiveness. Christianity is about loving God, and to love God one has to keep God’s Commandments. Having homosexual sex is not keeping God’s Commandments.

(John 14: 23) “Anyone who loves me will keep my word and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make a home in him.”

(John 14:21) “Anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them will be one who loves me; and anybody who loves me will be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and show myself to him.”

The following scripture leaves much doubt that Jesus is going to forgive those who deliberately disobey him.

(John 12:47-48) “If anyone hears my words and does not keep them faithfully, it is not I who shall condemn him, since I have come not to condemn the world, but to save the world: he who rejects me and refuses my words has his judge already: the word itself that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day.”

I think Jesus would understand, as we have no way of knowing whether he actually spoke any of those words.

Since you have no idea what Jesus spoke, why do you argue that anything is ''false'', in Scripture, at all? Your using your own ideas as a basis for a position of ''Christian''.

I believe you can only speak for yourself. You don’t know if anyone else has a way to know if Jesus actually spoke the Words recorded in the written Word of God. Do you?

Jesus has personally told me he spoke those words.

What do you mean specifically? What did I claim was false?
