Gulf states to introduce medical testing on travellers to 'detect' gay people and stop them from entering the country | Mail Online
A medical test being developed by Kuwait will be used to 'detect' homosexuals and prevent them from entering the country – or any of the Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC), according to a Kuwaiti government official.

GCC member countries – Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates – already deem homosexual acts unlawful.

This controversial stance is being toughened, according to Yousouf Mindkar, the director of public health at the Kuwaiti health ministry.
I understand that with the upcoming Olympics, Russia is very interested in the technology.
Perhaps it will be a punishable offense to test positive, eh?

I am an expert on these 'tribes with flags' as described by Churchill :)

These are medieval dictatorships controlled by rotten monarchies...
These monarchies have no problem with gays, lesbians or whatever kind of sexual orientations...

The only thing they care about is making sure that no critics to their oppressive regimes are allowed in their controlled land...

That reeks of bs. I'm still waiting for the research into bisexual and asexual "genes" since, you know, human sexuality is way more varied than just straight or gay.
I wouldn't be surprised if they find a genetic component which correlates with gaydom.
Given that it's not something chosen, there's some fundamental origin for it.
But I would very skeptical if the genetic test arose in Russia, Uganda, or Saudi Arabia

"...Darren Griffin, professor of genetics at the University of Kent, said: 'To claim a 70 per cent predictive value of something as complex as homosexuality is bold indeed. I wait with bated breath for a full peer-reviewed article.

'While there is strong evidence in general for a biological basis for homosexuality my personal impression has always been one of a multiple contributory factors, including life experiences.'

Gil McVean, professor of statistical genetics at Oxford University, said: 'Without validation of the result in an independent data set it is not really possible to know whether there is any substance in this claim.'

Dr Christopher Gregg, Assistant Professor of Neurobiology & Anatomy and Human Genetics, University of Utah said:

'Overall, the importance of these findings will hinge on how reproducible they are in future studies that include larger groups of heterosexual and homosexual individuals.'

Gay and human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell said: ‘This research claims to be able to predict sexual orientation with 'up to' 70 per cent accuracy. This doesn't sound entirely convincing or reliable.

'Some people fear the research might be abused by homophobic parents or regimes to test and abort foetuses that have genetic markers for homosexuality.

‘Even if the tests achieved the maximum 70 per cent detection rate, it would still leave 30 per cent undetected.

'Any bid to exploit this research for homophobic ends is doomed to fail. Homosexuality has existed in all societies and all eras. It is part of the natural spectrum of human sexuality.’"

Transitioning from male to female
Listen to the facts from me about gay stuff in GCC, you know I worked there,in Saudi Arabia.....

Although the constitution may advise dead penalty or lashes to gays, they only apply this to fatal male rapings or sort of. While I was working there in one of the biggest carpet factories in Jeddah, would you believe me that there were at least 2 transitioning expat worker folks that I know. ( male to female) ? Everyone knew that, and they were called with their girls' names as they wanted to be called. Finding a partner was easier than east-south europe for me,the gay community over there is really stunning. Just imagine in a place like Saudi Arabia, I was an open gay, told my colleagues of expat origin who I was . My boss soon heart that and called me to his office. He just advised me to be careful, that he did not want people to hurt me. Where is the torture, where is the lashings?
By the way do you know what happens to you if you are caught fully drunk on traffic at night? You are taken into a clean and cool room at police station with hot cofees and burgers if you demand, stay for a few hours and be taken back to your home by a police officer unless you don't ugly talk.Ugly talk means they will call your boss to take care about you.

So do not exaggerate gay issues in gulf . It is just a show .

I've been telling over and over again that only the sexual acts are what could trigger anything, not just being who one is, and it depends on what those acts meet some criteria. At least in the belief system followed here in Saudi Arabia.

So, um, how ya doin', handsome?

:D

Oh my! I didn't mean that. And I completely believe you. If it is about my last line, it is just a joke running in RF. I'm really sorry.
