Tree Spirits

Just wondering if anybody made any contact with any tree spirits. Like, if you ever had any sort of experience, whether you were awake or when you were dreaming. Has anyone contacted any tree spirits and if so, what was it like for you?
i heard people experiencing pagan gods such as apollo or belus coming as a flash of life in their life. they describe it as a very emotional and spiritual event. i myself have never had anything like that but i have instead got my faith, any faith, robbed and my body ruined by an illness that destroyed my worldview dramatically. it was like some stranger, with which you dont agree with, put his ideas into your head and you live with it how you like and nobody cares.

I guess I'm a bit confused by the question. We are in contact with tree spirits on a daily basis, either directly or indirectly. Granted, most people don't bother paying attention to such things, but the connection is still there... all the time. For those of us who pay attention, it's a simple acknowledgement of those non-human persons.

After two days without food and water a maple tree spoke to me.
It wasn't audible of course.
It was a feeling.
It let me know that i could drink it's sap.
I know that doesn't mean much being that we all know that we can consume maple syrup made from the sap.
What i didn't know until this happened is that they are a good source of water.

I will tell you the story so it is made a little more believable.
i found myself in the county jail one day for parking on the sidewalk.
(that's another story)
I refused to pay the fine.
I was sentenced to two days in jail.

I refused to eat the food or drink the water cause i am a vegetarian and tap water gives me a headache.
They refused to accommodate me so i went without food and water for two days.
When i came home i drank a bit of water and went back outside to go for a walk.
I walked by the maple tree in my front yard to admire the beautiful fall colors and that is when i had this feeling that the tree was trying to tell me something.
I felt like i was literally drinking in all of the color which is when i realized the tree was telling me i could drink the sap.
I did some research later and found out that the sap from maples and black walnut trees can be used as a source of water.
Quite an experience.
Not something i will ever forget.

I have an ongoing awareness of contact and connection with trees and other plants.
As to outstanding experiences...nothing quite like what allfoak described, but I have received comfort, renewed energy and a general sense of well-being while in close contact with certain trees.

I have a strong pull and affinity for pine trees in general. I have also had contact with a Red Cedar tree spirit while I was living in Washington State, it offered a sort of protection for me because I was cleaning up the trash around the wooded area where it was. It was strange at first, but I ended up spending at least one day a week sitting under that tree. It was very invigorating.

I sometimes wonder if tree spirits are more likely to contact you when you clean up the area. I remember going down the road, picking up trash and I could feel as if the tree spirits were grateful over such an act.

Once I heard a weirdly ethereal feminine voice coming from the woods at the neighborhood park. It sounded really close by, but I turned around and there was nothing there. It was probably just a human I didn't see, but I guess I'll never know.

And basically anyone who's attuned can feel a presence of sorts around trees, rivers etc, regardless of beliefs. I often go for walks where I end up picking up litter and carrying it uphill to dispose of with my bare hands. It's definitely the least I can do, given how utterly imperiled life on Earth is in the 21st century.
