After two days without food and water a maple tree spoke to me.
It wasn't audible of course.
It was a feeling.
It let me know that i could drink it's sap.
I know that doesn't mean much being that we all know that we can consume maple syrup made from the sap.
What i didn't know until this happened is that they are a good source of water.
I will tell you the story so it is made a little more believable.
i found myself in the county jail one day for parking on the sidewalk.
(that's another story)
I refused to pay the fine.
I was sentenced to two days in jail.
I refused to eat the food or drink the water cause i am a vegetarian and tap water gives me a headache.
They refused to accommodate me so i went without food and water for two days.
When i came home i drank a bit of water and went back outside to go for a walk.
I walked by the maple tree in my front yard to admire the beautiful fall colors and that is when i had this feeling that the tree was trying to tell me something.
I felt like i was literally drinking in all of the color which is when i realized the tree was telling me i could drink the sap.
I did some research later and found out that the sap from maples and black walnut trees can be used as a source of water.
Quite an experience.
Not something i will ever forget.
