500564 is 33 percent of total gun related homicides since Kennedy's assassination. 65820 Americans soliders dies in war since Kennedy's assassination, or 7.6 times.
War doesn't seem like such a bad way to die after all.
There are restrictions in government buildigns & other places, & this varies with the state.
Of course, some of those non-war gun deaths were well deserved.

I believe those are specifically homicide statistics. So, well it's possible that some people died who deserved to, I'm wondering if that occurs at a 6.6:1 ratio.
What would the murder rate be if we didn't have guns for self defense?

'Tis fine. I do not know the answer to the question. If America was anything like Australia, the answer would be roughly half over the first couple decades.

War in America? With whom? Cuba? Russia? (naw, they'd go nuclear)
Liberals vs. Conservatives? Conservatives would win hands down as
they have the guns, ammo, and gonads to use them.
A break down in society? A complete collapse of the infrastructure?
Maybe.
I have 5 assault rifles, 8,000 rounds of ammo, 5 .22 r.f. rifles and
15,000 rounds of ammo, an assortment of high powered long range
rifles, shotguns and lots of ammo for them plus chain saws, knives,
archery and the skills to use them all.
BUT I AIN'T GONNA SHOOT NO FREAKING BUDDY!
If some poor slobs come to me for food I'll feed 'em.
Place to sleep? Yup, I'll help.
Build 'em a fire if it's cold out. Make buddies out of them if possible
and start a "safe zone" where we can use my woods to build shelters
and make gardens and such.
Now if some dipstick starts shooting at me all bets are off!

I might be some dumb but I ain't plumb dumb.
But if America adopted confiscatory gun laws like Brazil, then our murder rate would increase.

What are the relevant gun laws in Brazil? I do not know them.
They're much tougher than here.

no money and my state makes it some what difficult and i don't need one for home defense. one day

thanks i got plans on how to make my home defended with out a gun . since im top floor with two narrow stair cases, ill fill with furniture . ill remove my deck and add a retractible ladder , escape exit through attict via other apartments .
good foraging , fishing , hunting , fresh water and stores to raid in my area , plus seeds and garden
