The "What are you listening to?" thread- Part 4

Oh yeah! I used to put this on and pop and break to it back in the day.1983 & 84 was the time.Parachute pants, sony walkman and my switchblade comb in my back pocket.I always made sure to take a piece of cardboard with me to the Rec at the schools in the summertime.Free sandwiches and chocolate milk all day.Plenty of energy to break.

Electro pop & Electro rock by groups such as Kraftwork were the inspiration for Electro funk & Electro boogie, which was the beginning of hip hop.Afrika Bambatta and others began making these kinds of beats and rapping to them.Other artist came along and took what they learned and began taking it to another level. We started getting people like Pretty Tony in Florida who began making hits like "Jam the box." This actually began a new style of music called Freestyle.People started taking these beats and singing to them.Artist such as Trinere,Cynthia,Lil Suzy,Johnny -O,Stevie -B etc.. It transformed into a new thing and it has not stopped.

Here is Pretty Tony and below is his wife Trinere.Pretty Tony made the beats and Trinere sang.Awesome music. It shows how the music transitioned.

Sounds like a better time. Thanks for the recommendations. Will check them out later on when work has slowed down.

I'm jamming to this! Man I love the 70's and 80's. The jam of course is recent but the video is old school Soul Train.
