The same thing happened every time the calendar was changed. In the second case the sage who advocated the change (Vishwamitra), was accused of trying to make a new universe. His children were deprived of their 'varna' (from Kshatriyas to Shudras). The king who supported him (Trishanku), supposed to have been sent by Vishvamitra to heaven with his body was supposed to have been denied entry in heaven by Indra and other lesser Gods and made to hang midway between the earth and heaven, in the process becoming a proverb for indecision. That is the power of orthodoxy.

If we go by precedents, I suppose by the time Hindus will wake up to the problem, we would have missed Piscium and would accept γPegasi and αAndromedae (Uttara Bhadrapada) as the beginning of the year in another 500 years.

Everytime I go into a Catholic Church, I want to cry. Its not particularly God but a smothering of positive devotion that I have not seen in any religion I have personally experienced before. I went to Mass early with a friend of mine. I saw a whole family on their knees, bowing on the floor in front of Mother Mary. It was so beautiful that the only picture I could take was in my mind. This heavy devotion and teaching of cleansing and sacrifice will always be a part of my faith.


This is the Gohonzon. The Law of the Buddha inscribed within this scroll by a Buddhist Monk Nichiren Diashonin. It is written in Sanskrit, Chinese, and Japanese. In the center it says "I devote myself to the mystic law of causality" its beatiful when it is chanted to. The Buddha Law is always a part of my faith.


My family used to go to Pow Wows every year. I missed this year; but, they are very animated. My mothers side is Cherokee. My fathers side (my grandmother) is full blooded blackfoot. Although I wasnt raised in the culture still makes me think of my roots.


I have pictures of my family (this isnt my family) on my altar. I practice ancestral veneration and natural forms of worship. This is my faith.

The Orisha Yemaya kinda stuck on me. I believe we came from water and she is the Orisha of the waters..of life. If I believed in a Creator, I would be a Santera. I feel that each part of the earth have spirits (animist) and if I want to know The Creator, it would be through the Orishas.

Up to 150 members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth group joined hands with other volunteers to plant 2500 trees along the Eumemmerring Creek at Doveton, in Melbourne's south-east, on Sunday.

It was just one of events held nationwide for National Tree Day.

The religious symbol for Dementheology is an upside down triangle that is black.

Dementheology is a Judeo-Christian belief system. It believes:

1) That God and Satan are different personalities of the same Being
2) That you can drive off the influence of Satan by meditating on the Holy Word
3) Heaven can be experience by meditating on the Now
4) We believe that Jesus of Nazareth was a mentally ill man who was good but not the Messiah
5) We stick to Judaism.
