Facebook scrolls. Sometimes I scroll down for 4 seconds on facebook. I check in for a family message or an alert. It takes just seconds. This place might take all day if you let it.

RF is more like a book. It is easier to find posts here and more interesting to read.

Does that answer your question?

Lol. If I was leaving, I would just... leave.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I come and go on a fairly regular basis, but I've never felt a compulsion to announce either my exit or my entry. And yes - I've got over 15,000 entries - over a period of probably 8 years or so. No apologies. Like someone else said, this is a debate forum. I don't expect anyone to be able to engage in subliminal mind reading. Communicating online pretty much requires, well, typing out messages.

Carry on.

Yeah ... I don't understand this thread. Why would people "sign up" to leave RF? Aren't we free to leave at any time without explanation?

LOL works for me! Sometimes I'm gone for MONTHS at a time. Sometimes I get on a tear and hang out around here for months at a time. But regardless of my online activities, I have a full and busy and very fulfilling "real life" that includes a husband, dogs, a cat, four elderly parents and inlaws, five young adult kids, and seven grandkids. I actually have meaningful relationships in real time in the real world with all these people. I read fast, process info fast, and type fast, and due to my extremely spoiled lifestyle, I don't have to get up and go to work every day, so instead I spend a couple of hours each morning drinking coffee and pontificating on this forum as well as a couple of decorating forums. And then I jump up and go running around all over town doing stuff with people that I actually know.

Yeah, I get around.

I've announced before. It was to step down previously as administrator and moderator status, let people know I'm not a go-to person anymore, and for reasons that my business was a priority.

It wasn't something I needed to escape from.

I'd do it again, announcing a departure, but because I am in a position where I think it's gracious and in good taste for the members to have a chance to adjust expectations for staff matters.

Business is pretty great this quarter, by the way.
