Muslim toss Christians into the sea to drown.

How do Muslims condemn unethical behavior all the time when most Muslims, at least in the Middle East, approve of blasphemy laws and criminalizing homosexuality? That's not condemning unethical behavior; that's actively supporting it.
That is true for Middle Eastern Muslims. They could use some education. Its a shame to see these people stuck in the past with their orthodoxy.

So they do believe some unethical stuff. But its not only a muslim problem. The lgbt community has come a long way from when they would only get bashed from their peers. Still do in some places in America. I wouldn't want to live in the bible belt and be openly homosexual.

There is just something about taking incidents of savagery, and attributing it to a whole group.

There is a poster on these forums who has claimed "most jews are zionist". Who clearly, when talking of killing "zionist" really means just Jews. When Israel bombs Gaza and people attribute it to Jews period, its not right.

Do all Jews need to answer for Israeli actions? Do all Catholics need to answer for little boy touching priests?

Its good to conversations and put your position. But theres something really wrong with saying

"Look at these muslims from Africa killog christians. Now all you muslims answer for this".

That was over a 1000 years ago, way to be totally relevant

So 1000 year old ideas should be discarded? Like, maybe, the Torah, Bible, and Koran?

Nice try. Wanna talk religion, can't play the time card. Same books, same beliefs.

a) not all religions are the same, half the world isn't an abrahamic faith
b) secular governments have committed atrocities as well, even now a million people have died thanks to the war on terror
c) 1000 year old atrocities should be discarded, we can talk all we want about how Canada raped Native Americans to oblivion while giving the settlers and their descendants all of Canada's wealth, but it's no point because it's in the past. What's important is that Canada and Christianity have changed

Then you're following the commandments given to the ancient Israelites, whether you like to admit that or not.

the Christian scriptures (New testament) also lays down the law regarding homosexuality...the practice is condemned.

So you condemn discrimination against Christians while supporting it against LGBT people.

I sense enormous hypocrisy somewhere along the line.

LGBT people can practice whatever they like outside the christian congregation. But they can't practice it inside. So there is no discrimination. You've gone way off topic on this anyway.

Not if certain groups of Christians had anything to do with it.

I dont know christians of any denomination who would put a homosexual to death. The fact is that the only direct command to christians is to keep away from people who practice such things. there is no requirement to put them to death.

Unfortunately, there are many Christians who would--especially those Christians who belong to denominations that would affiliate themselves with the Religious Right.

Which really highlights the point Jesus was making when he said 'not everyone saying to me Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom of the heavens'

A true chrisitan will be known by their works and good fruits and a rotten one will be known by theirs.

Agreed. On that note, may God have mercy on us, on those Christians who perished, and on those who killed them.

It says they allegedly did it. Doesn't mean they did. But this is just all about dividing groups. They don't even realize they're being manipulated to fight each other.

They say "allegedly" when it comes to crimes, even if it's an indisputable fact beyond all doubt that someone did something.

Perhaps the same motivation that led Christians to rape Muslim women while the clergy cheered them on during the Crusades?

Some countries weren't forced to convert to Islam. Some adopted Islam. People love to say "Derp lolz, all of Islam was spread by the sword." which isn't true. Some were influenced and adopted such religions and customs. Same with Christianity and other religions.

I'm still waiting for a Muslim to unreservedly condemn these killings.

Are you talking about this site or in life in general? Because in both areas there have been Muslims that have condemned these acts. Most Muslims don't do terrorist acts. Most people in GENERAL don't do that. I didn't see anyone demand Christians to condemn what the Lord's Resistance Army did in Uganda, but Muslims have to? I don't get that. Not that it matters because there have been Christians that condemned it just like there are Muslims that condemn ISIS and other terrorist groups.

Some people need to stop and listen. There ARE Muslims that condemn these actions but there are some people that say "Derp, Muslims don't condemn Islamic terrorism!" so loud, they can't hear the Muslims that ARE condemning it. Most Muslims want what you want, which is to be with their loved ones, families and friends and live in peace. It's time for people to let go of this hatred, stop trying to justify their hatred for them and move on.

It took maybe 400+ years for the 'Muslim World' to become majority Muslim, people adopted the religion slowly and due to numerous reasons such as social benefits of being Muslim, intermarriage, etc. It took many decades for the conquered peoples to even realise that there was such a thing as a Muslim (or, alternatively, the Muslim identity didn't properly appear for many decades).

What certainly didn't happen was that Muhammed and the Rashidun Caliphs went around giving the people the option of conversion to Islam or death. Forced conversions (of Jews) actually have a better documented history in the Christian tradition.

The early Arab conquerers didn't seem to try to hard to spread a new religion, a fair number of them were Christians and Jews anyway.
