Hi Mystic...
I tend to like to know very simple things about people...so...

1) what is your favorite meal?
2) what are your top 5 favorite books?
3) if you could teach any course in a university setting, what would it be?

:)

1) My favorite meal would have to be a comfort food of some type. I'm a Midwestern gal, so a casserole dish is a go-to for all things quick and delicious but has a "stick-to-yer-ribs" feeling. I like stews in the cold weather and salads/sandwiches in the warm weather. Casseroles are a year-round thing. Pasta casseroles, especially. Italian-inspired baked pasta dishes are the bomb.

Though I have to give it up for my pot pie recipes. I use an old family standard recipe and tweak them a little bit, but nothing beats fresh ingredients and homemade stock to make these pot pies in. Chicken pot pie is my all time absolute fave.

2) Top 5 favorite books? Oy...I'll try...in no particular order....
- The entire Lord of the Rings trilogy (that includes Tom Bombadil and the Scouring of the Shire)
- The Silmarillion
- Khalil Gibran's The Prophet
- Women Who Run with the Wolves
- Wishcraft

This is my list as of today. It may change tomorrow, I dunno. :D

3) I do teach as an associate professor at university when a department needs me adjunct part time. I teach in the theatre and dance departments when I do, and have taught pedagogy, intro to Laban Movement Analysis, intro to Bartenieff Fundamentals, composition I and II, stage combat, Laban for theatre, and the various levels of dance technique for university students. I've taught at 3 different universities for the last 15 years now. I've considered returning to school and earning my PhD and writing my dissertation in Dance Kineisiology or in Movement Patterning (for opportunities to critique more stage work), and then I remember that time is short and business calls. But if time did ever allow, I wouldn't mind getting my doctorate, so I could find perhaps an archival position at the local conservatory, travel for sabbatical during a tenure, and writing for future generations.

Thanks for the questions. They were good. :)

Boxers or briefs?

I like boxers on either me or my muse :D..... if the choice was between the two overall. On me, for preference and comfort, nothing beats a good pair of bikini underwear.

If it's under a costume for a show, thongs or just go commando layered under whatever tights or leotards or spanx or booty shorts is part of the costume.

If it's something fun and seductive for my partner and I'm wearing it for just a few minutes (if that), then I tend to go all out and put together a whole lingerie outfit.

What? Me worry?
Dude! I just read (or should I say misread) your bio. I thought your last line said that you would "...whip up on the community property..." Imagine my chagrin. BTW my oldest son was born almost the same day as you. Trust me, the best is yet to come.

What's your opinion on Paternity pay and it's potential to help reinforce families which don't abide to the old-fashioned gender roles (Man working, Woman raising children etc)?

Do you think it can be used to help encourage people to stray away from Gender Roles and create/preserve a more egalitarian family unit - as well as to reduce stigmatization of Women in the workplace who want children?

All for it.

Yes yes and yes.

On the other hand how do you feel about women being bare-foot, pregnant, and in the kitchen--if that makes them happy?

If it's their choice and not out of coercion or intimidation? Totally for it.

And for the record, I was barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen for years and was very happy when I was. I still enjoy walking around the house barefoot and put laundry up on the clothesline barefoot and make meals in the kitchen barefoot. It's because I hate shoes (dancer-psychology).

I do argue against the stance that this is how women are supposed to be. How we are supposed to be is as much men are - free to live our lives as fully as we intend to.

Do you have a favourite (fictional or real) society which most-closely matches/matched your views on egalitarianism - sort of like a society that inspires you somewhat?

I haven't yet found one. Most societies so far have paled and have fallen well short because we as a species are still quite tribalist and don't care enough to transcend these instincts for the betterment of all. The fictional stories that also have me turning pages are dystopian, too, so those don't help. lol

I'm sure if I find one I'll offer up something here.
