My guess is that what I am getting at bounces off your version of reality and so you cannot bring yourself to even begin to seriously entertain the idea I am expressing. I said I understood the Zen quote but didn't find it useful. The proof of the pudding is in the eating...not in the pride of talking about how much you know about the dogma and theory.....if you have never from the get go had as your goal the realization of Nirvana, then I suppose moderating Buddhist forums, teaching meditation, etc., is all that represents the goal of your Buddhist practice..

It is not a matter of pride, it was to demonstrate extensive experience of modern Buddhism and the people who practice it. I can tell when people are posting fake Buddha quotes, I can tell when people are misrepresenting Buddhist teachings for their own ends, I can tell when people are posing as Zennies, I can tell the difference between genuine practitioners and quote-mining armchair Buddhists, and so on.

I find it strange that you are lecturing me on how I should think about Nirvana when you are not even a Buddhist. That is weird.

Modern Buddhism? You mean the type of Buddhism that does not have as its goal the realizing of Nirvana like Gautama's teaching... I practice Zen....and the goal is to realize Nirvana....just like Siddartha...you have a problem with that?

As for the Zen quotes, I just don't find them very interesting, been there, done that.
