Are there single fathers, who never married, with children in the West?

No, father-custodian is always a married individual, we are discussing a male one who never married, yet rears his own children.
Regards
This doesn't make sense. There are plenty of fathers who never married and have custody of their kids. The term "father" in no way requires one to have been married.

Really?
I've never known one, as far as I know. I've known guys who are perfectly good single parents. But they always started out as a couple, then the mother left the picture for some reason.
Tom
Yeah. They started off as a couple, but never got married.

Maybe that's what OP meant, it's often hard to tell:)
But I suspect that he is comparing the number of single mothers who were never in a real relationship with the father, to the opposite.
It gets hard to tell what married means nowadays. I have a 30ish relative who just got his 5th divorce. He is too religious to live in sin, but you can get married and divorced for about $200 total expense. My sister never married her partner Frank, but they've been rock solid together for 30 years now.

Very true. I just assumed the OP was referring to being married under law.

Remarrying is living in sin (unless they have died)- not that I want to get personal.

Are you so arrogant as to think the arbitrary rules and regulations you accept through your religious belief system apply even to those who reject your religious belief system?

Interesting bumper sticker:
He is YOUR God
They are YOUR rules
YOU burn in hell

That is a pretty cruel point of view. What about victims of abuse? Should they be confined to being single for the rest of their lives? And, many officials from various Christian Denominations disagree with you, so why are you right and all of them wrong?

I wouldn't call it religious. But yes, they are divine laws and we all ultimately answer for them. Though you are free to believe whatever you want.

Re-marrying is not a Biblical sin for every situation.
Either Robert.Evans is ignorant of what all the Bible allows for re-marrying or he is simply generalizing because the list of exceptions is ridiculously short.

Stay single. Beyond that, unless you invoke the Mosaic law and say that adultery would also free you, you will be committing adultery. That is the law. Yes it is tough.

Not as many though. People and courts favour the woman. It's called equality.
I think it might vary geographically. I live in SC and certainly the courts prefer to keep the children with the mother. But when I lived in Jersey, I knew a lot of men who got custody of their kids.
And by the way you spelled favour, I guess you're not American? So it might be different where you are.

I was given full care, control, custody, and concern of my daughter in Ohio back in 1996.

You think we have a choice?
Of course we do.
But then, I am not bound by the rules and regulations of any given belief system.
Though to be honest, based upon my experiences, no one really actually follows the rules and regulations of their chosen belief system.
They pick and choose, yes.
But that is not the same, now is it?

You do not think that you are goverened by situations and stimulus around you? How are you then free to choose?
