I see no value in atheism

- agnosticism and atheism are not mutually exclusive.
- agnosticism isn't just "I don't know whether any gods exist"; it's "the existence of gids is unknowable."
Oh the nuance...so how is my understanding categorized......god is unknowable....the existence of god is unknowable conceptually.....god is realized in union...?

I didn't form any idea of any concept myself. I just looked at all the other concepts people had formed from the Christian God to Allah and Brahma and Zeus and Thor and Poseidon and on and on. I have simply never had any need to believe in any kind of supernatural superhuman beings or forces or whatever. I have never had any special need to believe they don't exist either.
You are deluding yourself when you claim you looked at concepts of gods and did not form any idea of any concept yourself!

For example, when you read about the concept of Christian God, the view/idea you developed in your mind as a result is what you judged to be non-existent... it is unique, there is not one other person in existence for which the concept would have precisely the same view/idea... You could not disbelieve in something you had no preexisting conceptualization of...

In response to the OP and the question inherent in the thread title:

I think it depends on the atheist.

Here is a list of gods I don't believe in.
Gods We Don’t Believe In
Before I saw the list I had never heard of the vast majority of these gods. Yet I have managed to not believe in them all my life. I don't understand why I would have to have had any "preexisting conceptualization of" any of them in order not to believe in them.

Well, mainly because you managed to not believe in any of them before you saw the list.

To "not believe" in something requires something to not believe in.

I don't know a single professional cricket team. Can I say that I've "not joined" any of them, or do I have to learn about all of them before I can say with certainty that I'm not a professional cricketer?

Because how could you or anyone in existence claim disbelief in a concept prior to learning the concept even existed...it's plain nuts?

I wonder why it is you try to devalue atheism so much. I wonder if it is because there is always something for the godly to fight against (like it did with paganism) or because people are scared of it.

You do not understand non-dualism...I am not against atheists, they are just unaware that trying to understand the Cosmos through conceptualization is flawed because reality itself in non-dual, and beyond comprehension using the mortal mind....but theists who also conceive of God as separate from themselves are also in error...for the same reason....

To assume such a thing about an atheist would be an error. The term atheism only applies to people who do not believe in a god or gods.

For christians who live by the bible, it is hard to accept science as well as what is written given the conflict of information.

I am not sure conceptualization is what really happens when it comes to understanding life and the universe.

You can say what you like, words are at your command.

But I"m quite certain that you have a concept of "a professional cricket team," at your disposal.

What exactly do you perceive I am assuming about an atheist that is an error? \

As for your comment about Christians who take the bible literally...yes I understand what you mean...however you my be dismayed to learn that they are the complementary opposite of you atheists...ying and yang, theism and atheism....opposites attract each other like positive and negative...it's the eternal dance of complementary opposite forces that keep the universe balanced and in harmony....my position is not one or the other of the opposing views.....but the underlying unity of the universe where balance, harmony, and peace prevail in perpetuity....

You assume that atheists want to understand the "cosmos".

I am not sure what the point is here. We all know that Atheists and Theists have different views when it comes to religion and belief systems.

Yes I did assume that....so why do atheists not want to understand the cosmos?

It's the principle involved...like good and evil...they are complementary opposites...you can't have one without the other...one defines the other and vice versa..do you understand....ying-yang, electron-positron, gnostic, agnostic, theist-atheist....get the idea....that's why on RF, there is never ending debates between atheists and theists....you need each other to feel whole...

Some do and some do not. An interest in how the universe works could possibly help to understand what happens out there and possibly help to predict what will happen in our own solar system.

We might need theists and atheists, but we do not need theism in order to feel whole. Living life to the best of our abilities is enough for me.

Atheists can not feel whole because they are playing a role of devils advocate to the theists, who also can not feel whole.....for the whole is the cosmos from which all apparent aspects manifested.. Be at peace with the whole...and see that all that happens is meant to happen...cats and dogs...theists and atheists....good and evil...all is ok with the world so long as it is in balance...

Who are you to say what someone can or cannot feel? If it is atheists vs theists....then what about agnostics?

What is your definition of cosmos? I feel as though you understanding of the cosmos is so very different from my own.

Agnostics and gnostics....there's a complementary opposite concept for all beliefs....

The Cosmos is the indivisible one absolute existence...all that exists...
