Yes both have understood the meaning perfectly.
It 8FLOWERS* referred to was many.
In history we find many flowered approximately the same time like Buddha/Mahavir/Lao Tsu/ Confucius/ etc.
Likewise when the season will come we find many flowers blooming in the field *EARTH*.

I must say something else though. I believe that there is more to it than that, and that you must not think about it logically. I believe that logic is a restraint that we must break down, fo only then can you see the world as it truly is. Only then can you see life and death, and the eternal cycle.

Logic is a MIND phenomenen which every Zn practitioners are awre off.
Its not logic but the natural laws which recurrs in every field.
Besides the desire for enlightenment is also not there; what to talk about logic.

Yes, that is true, all students of Zen are well aware of logic. And yes, it is in the mind. But to truly find all possible answers, we must use logic to an extent, then put it aside and think without logic.

Then, we may find answers to questions that we may never have been able to find with the use of logic.

Experiencing life moment by moment, as it is lived is the single most important concept I've gotten from Zen.

I very much so agree with you. Being bipolar, I experience extreme highs and extreme lows that come and go. I've had to learn to live with the fact that based on circumstances that are beyond my control, sometimes things will be this way, and other times they will be another way. One thing Zen has taught me is to take everything in stride, live life moment by moment, and always appreciate the beauty in each individual experience of living.
