HERE- NOW
Friends, Suggest that since it is important for any sangha for members to understand each other keeping the sangha's goal in mind then the real transmission between members happens in a faster and smoother manner. The goal as understood and written in all the posts remains MERGING OF THE INDIVIDUAL ENERGY WITH THE UNIVERSAL ENERGY the word ENERGY could be replaced with SOUL. Request all friends to write the goal as understood by them. Most times though many would be having the same understanding but the words used could differ and creating differences and so the idea is to merge the common factors and put it into one thread and proceed further towards the goal. If you are asking what is our interpretation of our main goal in life - my interpretation is that I must realize my true self - my soul within, which is a part of God - a spark of Divinity. I must see that Divinity in others and in all of creation.

f you are asking what is our interpretation of our main goal in life - my interpretation is that I must realize my true self - my soul within, which is a part of God - a spark of Divinity. I must see that Divinity in others and in all of creation. Here your ' I " ' My" comes out strongly. One has to understand that that same I My is the very mind/ego/satan/barrier. Once that is dropped there is no bridge between man and god as one is part of creation or part of god totally not just a spark it is 100 % god. Only that I itself is the barrier so it appears as a spark. Eventually the goal remains that very merging or is there any other way of looking at it? Love & rgds |

I understood from your first post that you were looking to further understanding; not sure critiquing others' communication styles is advancing your stated goals. Just an observation.......

Friend Engyo
How can one criticise oneself. One can always try to correct himself. If it is viewed as criticism then again it is the mind play and the mind will again be successful in bridging the gap wider. Here one is trying to get to the other side of the barrier/mind to merge. Love & rgds |

Creation itself is perfect and all are part of it.
Each individual is part of that same. Labels are for indentifications or else not individualisation which is created by the mind/satan. Here the satan /mind is identified and so the bonding of all things are perceived. It is also known that there is nothing right or wrong. It is again that very mind who passes such judgement for those individuals who identifies itself with the mind. Scientifically too what you throw goes around the universe and comes back to you however way it may be taken directly or through others; it is bound to come back like an echo. Ever wonderded why all planets are round? none are having edges. Another reason why it travels round to the same spot. The finger pointing to the moon, do not watch the finger or the moon. Corrections are needed in efforts if there is any all could jointly create such an atomoshphere together so that the vibrations become stronger and more effective; the reason for the importance of sangha [company] Mind grounds the individuals energy by making the person think. Energy is one and the same. when used for meditation the energy gets conserved. NOTE: "Lets see who blinks first" actually means or also is a fact that as soon as any thought crosses the mind the eyes blink. That happens when the energy saps. While communicating that itself is the first body language which immediately identifies the persons level of energy. Budhhas do not blink at all. Love & rgds |

Dear Zenzero, Seeing as this is in the zen thread, have you heard of the term, Suchness or thussness? Some of the issues you have raised may be true, however we are stuck here in Samsara as humans and as humans we have to live out our lives, untill the realease of Paranirvana. If one takes into account, that progress in zen can be related to a compass, then maybe you are at 180deg. Now the aim of Zen is to go the whole 360deg which is suchness. Also, you may wish to examine the 10 oxherding pictures, of which No. 10 relates to suchness. A student once asked his master, ' What is the way (of zen)'. The master replied, 'Everyday mind is the way'. Whether you think so or not, there is a moon and there is a finger pointing. Another analogy of zen is, when one begins practice, Mountains are mountains and rivers are rivers. When one has an insight, Mountains become rivers and rivers become mountains. When one realises the way, Mountains are mountains and rivers are rivers.

When I use the term “spark” I was not implying that we are not 100% God. Everything formed and formless is God. When you mention Satan – is that also God? Because you see, I don’t believe in Satan and therefore this “Satan” has no effect on me. There is no Satan here – only God. Isn’t this what you just said – that we are 100% God? “My” is a word I learnt in English Grammar class. Words like “my” and “I” are perfectly okay to use. It depends on what context. I find that when I use these words, people can better understand what I say.

Friend Koan,
You are right. first when the satori happens then one is actually born to start the journey then as Zen says Rivers are not rivers and mountains and not mountains When one thoughts totally drops then rivers are rivers and mountains are mountains. Here the rivers are not rivers at the same time rivers are rivers can be seen too though the thoughts have not totally dropped; no they are still there for practical reasons and as a sign of the balance of karma which is remaining. Hema, What was pointed at was not that satan is evil or bad. If one understand gestalt one understands that the focus and the background are both part of the picture BUT most people see and identifies with either the focus of the picture or the background like the finger pointing at the moon. When the finger is pointed towards the moon it is only to indicate it not to watch the moon or watch the finger. Likewise satan and god are just two sides but when the mind is in control it is the side of the satan and when the other side is in control god is seen. The same reason Budhha never talked about God. As KOAN mentioned SUCHNESS. Where what is, IS. There is no more god or satan. Till ones god is kept alive satan too will be alive automatically somewhere When one is no more fixed/ attached with either that both drops to that SUCHNESS. Rivers become rivers and mountains become mountains. Love & rgds |
