I just have to say that I've been poking around in the profile area, and I am VERY impressed! Love all the little fun things you can do, and the way it's laid out is fairly easy to navigate.
Good job! |

Greetings Master Vigil,
I just posted a response to a similar question in the Taoism forum. 8) But basically, the Ninja portion of my name was given to me by a friend. Her website had been hijacked by her webmaster, and I helped her regain control of it, all on the QT. She started calling me "Ninja" and so I adopted the name. I would love to take some martial arts lessons. My oldest daughter just started not too long ago (I am not even sure which form of Martial Arts she is learning) and has already gotten her yellow belt. The rest of my four children will be taking lessons this summer. I also enjoy ballet (very, very much....considered going professional at one point) as well as other forms of dance, and hatha yoga.

Thats cool, my mom taught ballet, point, and tap. I myself am a second degree black belt and instructor in Tang Soo Do (traditional korean martial art) and have learned ninjutsu, hapkido, aikido, iiado, kendo, tae kuk kwan, muk nyum do (meditation), and some kickboxing. The eastern thought learned in the martial arts is what first brought me to Taoism and Zen Buddhism.

That is awesome.
As mentioned, I am a recent deconvert of Fundamental Christianity. My husband is still very much a fundy. He is rather dismayed at my deconversion, but after some very rocky bumps, I think we might actually survive this. At any rate, "how we raise the children" is a huge issue with him right now. I don't feel it's entirely fair to insist that we don't raise them as Christians, but I fully intend to give them a much more balanced approach, when at all possible. I've heard it said, and I agree, that if I had not been a fundy, I would never have deconverted. SO....I said all that to say, he has nothing against the kids taking martial arts. I am thrilled. I am hoping it will open their minds to see that there is much more to the world than western, fundamental xianity.
